Vol 12 of the manga is out, and there's a special edition that comes with a booklet containing some kind novelette written by Nishio Ishin, with a crossover between the Monogatari series and March Lion. Wonder if it's any good. Struck me that there's quite a bit of crossover in the voice actors picked for the anime adaptations as well. Anyway, first episode was quite sublime. This will however not be a candidate for this year's best anime, so you know!

It didn't really hit me until I watched the song in this episode, but Rei's step-siblings are named after shougi pawns: Kyouko = 香子 :: 香車 = kyousha Ayumu = 歩 :: 歩兵 = fuhyou Bit late to notice after 12 volumes of the manga, but oh well. Maybe I just forgot. Yeah, that must be it.

Symbolic Butt posted:You mean shougi pieces Right. Not entirely familiar with English terms for board game pieces. "Pawn" was the first word that popped up when thinking of little tokens you move around in games.
