NOW this is really all.my own face but happy posted:In the winter of 2020 at kind of the height of Covid deaths and all that fear I went outside into the woods surrounding my house and planned to just sit down under a tree and die from the cold. I lost 3 close relatives to Covid and lost one of my best friends to the Q anon conspiracy and just felt like nothing was left for me.

Yeah that clearly happened. not physically, but the mind has a funny way of doing stuff like that under duress and it often has a deep significance. imo I had a less intense but not dissimilar experience around that time. I was processing something difficult, traveling for work constantly, drinking way too much, and not sleeping. Woke up in a hotel- I had to conduct a three day training with a very unhappy customer. A coworker ghosted them and quit right as I was driving home after another work trip, and other responsibilities were piling up. I was just, completely done. Really fried. Could not get out of bed. Suddenly, I felt something move, almost as if something brushed against me and through me and things became very still. I very clearly heard a woman's voice. It didn't have a sound, but I heard it- it didn't need sound. "Don't give up". e: just thought of an example of someone with a terminal illness who underwent psychedelic therapy for depression. for some reason, an image that coalesced for them was a teapot floating in space, and how that carrying around all of that stress and fear in their failing body was equally as absurd as the teapot worrying about it. so the teapot is meaningless, but it let them process all of their poo poo in a really deep way, and they had a much more happy and peaceful time after that. nice obelisk idiot fucked around with this message at 06:55 on Apr 24, 2024 |

On election day in 2008 I was working as a Cashier at a grocery store. This store catered mostly to upper middle-class families and a large amount of retirement communities nearby. I was poor and had no health insurance. Obviously, I was excited about Barack Obama possibly winning. During my shift a woman comes through the line, like normal that day but this time she had a really big pin that read: "Healthcare is a privilege, not a right". I remember being so angry at this person who was clearly retired and on Medicare, and the fact that she would wear this pin unironically made my blood boil. I think about this lady, and how much of an rear end in a top hat she was. I guess the confession is that I really hope she died either A) painfully, or B) alone.
