I'd absolutely recommend keeping up with it, and if you don't think your past experiences have been effective, maybe find a new therapist. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) works wonders with the kind of self-sabotaging thoughts you seem to be exhibiting; see if you can find someone who specializes in it. It's also expensive as gently caress and very very involved.
