It's crazy that we're getting close to self driving cars but trains, literally on rails in closed systems, are still getting driven manually by hungover engineers getting distracted sending dick pics. Like how hard can it be to make trains autopiloting with maybe a dude standing at an emergency brake button in case a car is stopped on the tracks and the train computer didn't detect it

Trains are actually pretty complicated to drive. I'm sure a train person could elaborate but I do know there's more to it than just hitting start and stop and small mistakes can snowball into the train de-railing.
