I like the meeting room scenes, they give the feeling that a very Shirobako-esque scenario is unfolding just off-screen, but nobody's really bothering to tell the VAs about it.

This is the dark future, where Tarou got put in charge before he stopped being a huge poo poo (I know the Shirobako comparisons have already been made, but I'm catching up on episode 2 where he's saying "Don't worry about it. What matters isn't budget, but PASSION" to the other guy and it really drove the point home for me)

say what you like, the shows the shirobako cast was working on had some artistic merit. idols on the run from a crime they didnt commit! 60s era jets vs alien-possessed F22s! it was deliberately aspirational for something, beyond whatever the gently caress harem show the giarlish number crew are working on
