i like the thing the director does where they constantly smash cut into an extreme close up to see the character's reactions, but instead of using it to make build tension they just use it use it for private reactions

say what you like, the shows the shirobako cast was working on had some artistic merit. idols on the run from a crime they didnt commit! 60s era jets vs alien-possessed F22s! it was deliberately aspirational for something, beyond whatever the gently caress harem show the giarlish number crew are working on

at this point ive basically given up on chitose ever becoming a better human being or making a career for herself, i want shibasaki to land a role she can throw herself wholeheartedly into, and momoka to move out of the shadow of her overly facilitative family, and koto to be a cool person

This ep was very pretty. The animation isn't super sakuga, but it makes up for it with coloring and background and character design. Also playing around with lots of filters and focusing.
