Ragnar Homsar posted:Anyway, yes, character submissions. The same rules as EO2U apply: pick a class, a portrait, give the character a name, and provide a bio of whatever length you want. However, because of how character customization works in EO5, you can also provide: Still forgetting to list voices as part of the character submissions, Ragnar?

Do we really need a guild name? We should be the Nameless Guild (Hopefully that fits the 6 characters in Japanese...)

...That guild name's picking up more steam than I thought it would. Anyways, felt like making another entry, but I couldn't think of one till now. Name: Cecil Class: Cestus Portrait: 3A Skin Color: Default Hair Color: Default Eye Color: Heterochromia on, one eye red, other one Default. Voice: Gentleman Cecil was the third born son of his noble family, destined to never stand out from his elder brothers with regards to his inheritance. He was a listless youth that barely succeeded in anything they introduced him to. Fencing, art, mathematics, dancing, etiquette, nothing stuck to him... until they finally introduced him to music. It turned out he had a magnificent ear for music, and in no time at all he began to become a budding virtuoso. There was no instrument he could not work into a wonderful song, and, indeed, he was naturally proficient in every instrument he laid his hands on. As a young adult, he was already well known far and wide for all the music he composed. He was such a refined gentleman that he was always on demand for every royal dance and ball. Unfortunately, on his way to yet another party, his caravan was attacked by a horde of Cutters and Bloodbears. Only Cecil managed to barely escape from the attack, with a scar across his chest to show for it. Ever since then, the world assumed that he was dead. They couldn't be more wrong. Ten years later, a man claiming to be the musical composer of old emerged from the forest, very much covered in bear blood and bear fur. He had a deranged eye and a rather booming voice, quite the contrary to the soft-spoken, slim Cecil of old. No one could get quite a straight answer from him - his answer changes every time they ask. However, there is without a doubt that he does have the same talent as the old Cecil, complete with composing music with his fists (Did you know punching the skull of a bear just right makes the same sound as C-Sharp minor?). And now he's arrived in Aeolis to show off his art. Just... don't let him get too into showing it off, because he might go into a frenzy. As for the opening party, Herbalist, Dragoon, and Warlock.

Glad I thought up that idea in time, haha. Colors look good (portrait was already perfect to begin with, after all).

Gonna be honest, though, the staggered voting felt like it worked well. Had me pretty anxious throughout the reveal.

I actually remembered back in the Megathread you guys talked about races using other racial classes. Was wondering why that never came up in the initial character submissions. As for Dog/Bird names, keep the Battle Network references. Also Cecil fighting a turtle

So instead of getting optional dialogue with Shilleka and Quona when you fight an FOE in their escort missions, you're forced outright to fight one here.

I had pretty high hopes for the Dragoon class, what with all the gun-mounting skills and summoning a freaking bunker of all things. Definitely feel like I'd play with the Gunpowder Dragoons more, they look a lot more fun than the Adamantine ones and the base class looks like it has enough to keep your party alive as-is. Though, I guess they wouldn't be defending the party if they were busy shooting, huh?

On the one hand, Death-Bringing Reapers just sound fun as heck with their ailments, but on the other hand, Barrier. It really feels like choosing between a Nightseeker's Venom Throw and a War Magus's Barrier skills between the two.

Gunpowder Dragoon, Combo Boxer, Death-Warding, Ruler of Fire, Ice, and Lightning, Spirit-Destroying, Falcon-Accompanied, Four Heavens, and Heaven's Love I've done a little D&D with some of my friends, and one of the prestige classes I picked up was called a Bear Warrior. I'd like at least one of the Second Names to be something similar to that (...Even if Cecil won't turn into a bear), so I'm saying BEAR BREAKER for Cecil.

Welp, let's see if I can get three characters out of three for your Etrian LPs. Name: Annie Class: Gunner Portrait: 4th, with a blackened coat. Living life as an inventor's not the easiest work. You have to figure out what people need, a creative way of fixing their problems, and actually making the product in the first place. It was pretty simple to find problems near Annie: There were always times where monsters would run into her little village, breaking down the gates, and even managing to vandalize whole neighborhoods. Even the hardiest Survivalists couldn't deal with so many attacks every night from different directions, and the Farmers definitely weren't strong enough to help much either. Annie herself was but a mere tinker, spending most of her time repairing the damage or making new furniture for everyone. So Annie stayed up a few nights, figuring out what worked against the monsters, make something to fix this long-term problem. She couldn't use a bow, but what about something easier to use? Something that could scare them off, like loud noises and fire... It wasn't long until she invented a rather primitive gun, but it worked so well that they didn't have any serious issues afterwards. Word spread about how such a simple weapon could scare off even the hardiest Clawed Mole from destroying villages, ransacking buildings, killing people. For a time, Annie was the center of attention... Until there was word of that little-town-turned-sudden-adventurer-hotspot, Etria, finding and making guns from their Labyrinth. Older ones, reverse-engineered to make newer and better ones, far more advanced than anything Annie could make on her own. Oh, she tried keeping up, but every gun she invented afterwards literally exploded in her face. Her frustration led to a lot of soot on her clothes and the village more or less shunning her, especially since there were so many explosions coming from her house. This even carried over to the things she made for the village that weren't weapons exploding. A few months later, she suddenly packed up and left for Etria herself, with only the blackened clothes on her back, the best gun she could manage to make, and as many explosives as possible. After all, if she couldn't make something better, the only thing she had to do was find it first, and put her name on it before anyone else could. And, hey, if she found anything else, more things in her name!

Speaking of Hexers, here's another submission. Name: "Quixote" Class: Hexer Portrait: 1, with a gray cloak fading into white near the ends. "Gather, friends, for have you ever heard the tragedy of Hexer Quixote? I thought not; it's not a tale that most adventurers would tell you. It's an Etrian Odyssey Untold. "There was once a man named Sir Carter of the House Bentley, a man of old money and wealth. He had a respectable, old life, living his time in High Lagaard, marrying a distant cousin of the House of Dubois and adding into his wealth. He had only one son, a bit of an inspired man that never quite made a splash in the world. After dabbling in the restaurant business for his life, Sir Carter retired to Etria with his wife and son in tow. For a time, it was peaceful family. Unfortunately, disaster struck with the discovery of the Etrian Labyrinth. Much like all the rush of adventurers seeking fame and glory, the man's son ran in, the blasted fool. Like many others, the son of House Bentley found an early grave in that forest. It wasn't soon after that the Mrs. Bentley took ill from the shock, and died shortly after. "You all must understand the grief that a widower would feel. For a time Sir Carter would not leave his mansion, taking to the drink and mourning. Word of mouth says that there were much howling even in the middle of the night. Wasn't too long until the old man finally came out, wearing not his refined coattail but a rather shabby robe and chained up! Ran everywhere in Etria yelling about conquering the Labyrinth himself, even, called himself 'The Hexer, Quixote!' Poor fool didn't even know a thing about Hexes, let alone fear! Say he tried to strike in someone a fear of heights? He'd pull up a ruler and measure their height! Or a fear of loss'd just be him giving someone money and then taking it right back after. Fear of close space'd just be him invading their personal space, stuff like that. The whole town didn't know what to do with him, but they let him be. Poor fool must've went mad, but he still had the ental to do as he pleased. "Well, that was about the time he went off to the Labyrinth himself, yelling about his romantic dreams, and that... well, that's another Untold tragedy of the Etrian Odyssey for you lot another time."
