A slowdown but we got a bunch more world-building. Getting some of the details about the founding of the Orte Empire was good stuff, and the brief cameo by Tamon Yamaguchi was fun.

I like seeing these history guys bro out. I like seeing Nobunaga commiserate with old west people only for him to one up them on being a gun nerd from an earlier period of time. I like seeing Toyohisa acknowledge that Hannibal went through some real poo poo and senile or not is p. hardcore. That pilot guy is a pain in the rear end though I feel sorry for those kobolds. Did Japan supply their soldiers with uppers or something? goddamn

I like that our protagonist is a psychopath who likes to charge into battle screaming "GIVE ME YOUR HEADS." I will say that the lack of elf suffering has been a huge problem in my opinion.

they rallied behind what is essentially an unusually tall dwarf with a fixation on decapitation. the elves are all incredibly far out of their comfort zones and they aren't going back any time soon, so they don't have a chance to be assholes like elves in most stories.
