If you wanted to end the nuclear stalemate, putting Trump in power is the right thing to do. Because our ICBMs have a good chance of not launching if he issues the order, people involved in the chain of command have said so. I mean, maybe if they were convinced we were under attack, but we have a really tiny window to get our attack off and if every person in the chain has to be utterly convinced, that's too long.

If Hillary ordered them to launch the nukes in a full twitch attack, they'd loving launch the nukes because it's the end of the world. So that is why Russia won't attack. It's not mutually assured destruction if you figure you got an 80% chance of surviving it, save for the nukes on the subs that would launch after the attack, but who knows if Russia has a solution to that problem. Maintaining the nuclear stalemate stable and gently backing off and disarming, and eliminating proliferation is the sanest forward course of action. Demanding the US fully disarm and Russia not is not sane, and demanding Russia fully disarm and the US not is not sane, neither government will ever agree to that.
