Ordered parts take a few days to arrive. When it does, a bill appears on the desk in the shop. Pay it, and the parts will show up outside by the fuel pumps. The extra gauges are great for troubleshooting. Figured out my fan belt was slipping and a propper carburetor tune using them. If only my brakes would work.

You need to throw water on the hot sauna oven when the sauna is more than 100 degrees. Shower isn't implemented yet.

Asproigerosis posted:Alright first try at starting and it just makes a high pitched whine. Is there anything meaningful to the graphical representation of where parts are? Such as, my front left strut graphically does not appear lined up with the bolt holes on the frame, but could screw them in and such. Is this just buggy? The whine is often a misadjusted alternator. Use the screwdriver on the mounting bar and adjust using the mouse wheel. The belt should not be bouncing when the engine is running. I dont think the deformed body matters.

KakerMix posted:"A spring of pussies for sure!" This is cool. Thanks! I started a new permadeath game, and i wanted to see if I could manage to compete in the rally the first Saturday. I managed to build the car, adjust it to get it inspected and do enough work to buy rally tires and an A/F meter. Unfortunately, i still had the stock carb and more importantly radiator. That dog slow lap in high gear to stop it from overheating didn't cut it. Ill try again with a fully built car next Saturday. 2 questions though. 1. Can you get the 200 Kph achievement on the stock gearing? I was bouncing on the rev limiter in top gear with the speedo needle at about the oil light, but that might not be enough? 2. Does weight affect performance? If that's the case I could probably strip the car completely for the next rally, but i'm not sure weight is simulated.

Cojawfee posted:Can you only get the speed achievement in the permadeath mode? I got the highest final drive and bounced off the rev limiter with the speedometer wrapped all the way around but didn't get the achievement. It is only available in permadeath mode, but that's what I'm playing in. The following achievements are only available in permadeath mode according to the dev. Rusting Fast Thank You Government Flying Finn First Loser Sliding Swede Ultimate Survivor And It Is Gone Proud To Be Mortal Not sure what they all are tbh.

Thanks JointHorse. In the early 90's, i think poo poo cars that teenagers would have in Scandinavia would probably be Beetles, Volvo 144s or early 240s, MKI Golfs and maybe the odd Escort or Cortina. Personally, I would love a Volvo-like car, complete with ill fitting Biltema replacements. It could be "My winter car" and have realistic impossible to replace faulty heater core that ices up your windows and you die. I'm not sure if it has been posted already but Bamses Turbo Underpants contains plenty of Volvos, Finnishness, alcohol and WTF mechanical maladies such as "Why is my engine creating enough electrical interference to kill all the computers in the dyno room?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6CvUMdZRoM

I finally managed to win the rally. I got lucky with the opponents time though. I've seen 1. places in the mid 4 minute range, which I'm not sure is possible to beat. Still pretty pleased. Did it without ever going to the mechanic as well. Car was mostly stripped, and had all the go fast bits.

Asproigerosis posted:Hmm my best rally times are around 6:20. What the heck am I doing wrong. That's without crashing? the biggest factor is obviously to keep it on the road. I'm not sure there is any way to win without having to go pretty drat fast, especially on the final stretch after Loppe. I did 5.30 on the rally, but i was probably doing 150+ top speed at the final stretch. I used a wheel though. Keeping the car under control without one at those speeds is gonna be a challenge. You have all the performance upgrades as well? I used the stock gear ratio, but a shorter ratio would probably help a bit as well. [Edit] Forgot that stripping the car seems to help a bit as well. I would keep the headlights though. Humbug fucked around with this message at 13:00 on Nov 12, 2016 |

Colonel J posted:What the hell. Everything should be fine but when I put the car in gear it won't move and reverts back to neutral after a few seconds. Check that you have fullly connected the gear linkage. There are two nuts that are not visible from the top. Slightly foreward of the first nut that is visible. 3 in total.

Learn where the difficult corners are obviously. Don't get to fancy with sliding or handbrake turns. Downshift to third and take it easy over the humps after Loppe. Floor it when you have long sight-lines. Strip the car down. Run richer fuel mix than usual. Save at the scrapheap to make the restart drive to the start shorter.
