Not Australian, but I think I remember these specifically and ice lollies of this type in general. I used to use a paper towel to manage the frostbite fingertips problem.

Yeah, the composition is extremely frenetic is a thing I'm noticing with the proper page layout. The copy-pasting and gaps between panels when they reedited it to long strip definitely made it so there was a lot less info to absorb at once. But still I will post
