I think Bear Walken's second form is a lot easier if you just accept that you'll eat a few hits and jump towards him and then around. Opposite of his first form where you want to hang back and circle around because it keeps you super safe. But then we're going to get into some real fun people real soon. I can't wait to see everyone's reactions to those guys.

I never bothered to continue the anime after it started to cover the events of the game but I remember liking the parts before that. Also never played Overdose even though I liked the first game a lot.

I always figured that the Alien Head boss was the source of the Seed. And possibly the thing that Harry made a deal with/imprisoned/mined for power. I bought the art book shortly after this recording for the sake of insight and literally all I got was "Alien Head is the source of Seed and owner of the tower" so good enough for me! Alien Head probably controls Harry more than Harry has any power over it though. I should see if I can find good scans or a decent way to pull pictures from it because there's some pretty neat stuff in there. Also I could probably 1CC even up to Stage 4 with just a bit more work but I feel like I'd have to really mess with different strategies to handle the rest without losing several dollars. Those dollars would be totally worth it though.

BONUS UPDATE TIME!!   Today, the Cocoa☆Disaster crew, along with special guest Jay, are here to talk about the Gungrave anime, and the way it plays with and expands on the very simple presentation of the game! It's heavy on backstory, a lot of which helps to explain most of the character interactions within the game's story, so I think it's worth a listen if you were into that first game. Lots of talk of friendship, adversity, betrayal, and kiwi racing abound!  Also today, I dive in to the mystery of who the anime girl on all the posters in that subway level is! I've literally never seen any reference to this anywhere else on the internet so I'm glad I could break the story for you all. Next week, we step back into the PS2 for Gungrave Overdose! Thank you all for watching so far.

Looking at this game, I actually want to try playing it. The first game looks stylish but bad, this game looks like it added enough abilities for Grave to actually make a game not as annoyingly tedious. I'm probably gonna eat these words next update. As for the story... when will harry223, harry222's alt, make the first move? Only time will tell.

I had never played the first Gungrave so it was nice to see it shown off. I have beaten Gungrave Overdose and look forward to everyone’s reaction to how crazy it gets. I was disappointed to see the first game didn’t have English voices since the dub in Overdose is great. I generally had trouble reflecting the missiles back.

I hope that at some point, even if it necessitates hitting up a lower difficulty level, that we get to see the invincibility trick/move/what have you in action. I cared too much about score back when I played Overdose to use it. I'd just rather (back then) start the whole level over if I got into that kind of situation and couldn't use a super or two to refill my shield enough to get out of danger.

UPDATE TIME!   Today, Spike leads the gang to a hotel where a big Seed deal is going down, and it seems like some real weirdos have beaten Grave to the infiltration punch! Keeping an eye out for any suspicious activity, Grave makes his way to the top of the building... Sorry this is so late, guys! I was really busy today, but now this video is here, and it's introducing some real good new characters!

At around fifteen minutes in you start talking about how there should be a sequel to this game where you're fighting people cosplaying as the main character. You know that's actually not a bad idea for No More Heroes 3. Somebody should call Suda 51.

In the anime, he's shown to be borderline mute in life as well; he's just a quiet guy. Of course, getting shot repeatedly, then getting executed with a pistol that may literally be rammed into your skull, and then thrown out of a skyscraper is probably not good for the language center. IIRC Grave is actually the only Deadman on display until like halfway through Overdose; again iirc all of the bosses in one were enhanced humans or Orgmen(the crystal mutants with the bat wings) but not deadmen, and the only other one I can think of that we've seen so far in this game is kind of a special case. I think it would've been better, instead of having Destroyman come back or whatever, to have one of the bosses be like a cosplayer who's just way too into the role and basically attacking with prop, con-friendly weapons. Or have it like that football guy with the cheerleaders and make the boss like 25 mediocre cosplayers that swarm you.
