it was close with like 5 minutes left and then the warriors rattled off a bunch of points out of nowhere in typical warrior fashion

The quickest substitution in the history of the NBA
Durant and Lebron both had completely insane performances in this Finals. Shame they didn't get one or two more games.

in my opinion, as much as people want to see "greatness" they still want there to be competition. kd to the warriors is an incredibly boring move because it seriously kills competition.

basically, any team that beats the warriors and goes on to win a ring will have a much better story and will be much more important than this warriors team

The Warriors are the best team I've ever seen and they play what should be a wonderfully attractive style of basketball. But they are so loving good and relentless that they make individual games less fun to watch.
Is this what racists felt when the Celtics got good in the 60s?

i agree that when the warriors are playing most teams they are the most amazing basketball team i've ever seen play

but when they face serious competition the cracks really show and its impossible not to notice how much help they get

spurs don't need him anyway. dejounte is going to the real deal. spurs should be focusing on bringing in a better center.

Spurs would first need Manu to retire, then Mills and Simmons are gone for sure, and I still don't think that's enough while staying under the cap.

its not, and its not going to happen.

they'd have to get rid of some combination of LMA, parker's contract, and pau, too

its just not going to happen, nor does it need to because the spurs should be way more focused on developing dejounte for their big push in 2018.

I honestly think that Klay is worth more than Curry down the line for his defensive ability, and hope he'll get respect if he chooses to walk.

i think historically the only real annoying thing will be the false attribution of small ball to the warriors when the 3 finals winners before them all had good small ball lineups, and the lebron heat dominated the nba narrative with a small ball lineup before the warriors were any good at all.

Could there be any as good? I mean, I can't think of a crazier example of team-stacking like the 2017 Warriors did. If they werent the GOAT team they really played under their potential. Has there even been a top 5 player join a team after a record-breaking season for wins and efficency like the GSW had in 2016 , then Durant signed with them? I can't think of a similar example in all of pro sports. It would be like if 2 top 5 WR and 2 top 5 defensive players signed with the patriots after their near undefeated season. Or if somehow Trout and Ted Williams signed with the murders row 30s Yankees.

Yes, Durant and LBJ both had numbers unseen before in a finals. Two guys reaching 147+ GmSc is a first and it was only a five game series.

code:

151.3	Kevin Durant
147.2	LeBron James
120.4	Stephen Curry
91.2	Kyrie Irving
72.3	Kevin Love

44.3	Andre Iguodala
39.3	J.R. Smith
34.1	Tristan Thompson
21.9	Shaun Livingston
16.6	David West
15.1	Richard Jefferson
13.8	JaVale McGee
11.4	Kyle Korver
11.3	Ian Clark
11.1	Iman Shumpert

4.6	Derrick Williams

None of this is evidence of anything. As in every other conspiracy, just because it is possible that something shady CAN happen, that doesn't mean you should assume that something shady IS happening. Yes, yes, I know, "open your eyes sheeple!" and all that, but that isn't a good argument either guys.

edit: as for billionaires wanting to become trillionaires, if that's the case, they're all smart enough to know that fixing games for the sports team play thing isn't the most effective way of doing it - they'd do it with something boring that isn't on national TV with tens of millions of people watching and analyzing it, like stock manipulation. The ultra rich often aren't motivated by "money" in the same way that we are. They use money as a measuring stick against they're fellow billionaire friends and rivals. Winning championships with the hottest team in the league is just as good bragging rights as having another $100 million in the bank.

The NBA brushed off its very embarrassing referee scandal with ease (it was not just a few bad apples). Back ~10 years ago it was found that every...single...referee violated the contractual prohibition against gambling (mainly casinos). It's not a conspiracy.

The referees, the arbiters of the game did not have integrity ergo the league/game itself was corrupted. The NBA (still to this very day) has not been forthright in revealing identities of referees in close contact with Tim Donaghy during his nefarious activities either.

Fixing games wouldn't be the most effective way but it's still exceedingly superior to many other ventures.

Your analogy is extremely simplified. But some would do something like that anyway. Don't underestimate the avariciousness of the .1%. These are people who pay people min. wage and then turn around and hold cities ransom for tax breaks and act like they're running a utility.

It's a lot more than $10,000,000. The total gross from a city winning a title is immeasurable.
