The Warriors are the best team I've ever seen and they play what should be a wonderfully attractive style of basketball. But they are so loving good and relentless that they make individual games less fun to watch. Is this what racists felt when the Celtics got good in the 60s?

i think historically the only real annoying thing will be the false attribution of small ball to the warriors when the 3 finals winners before them all had good small ball lineups, and the lebron heat dominated the nba narrative with a small ball lineup before the warriors were any good at all.

I mean, I can't think of a crazier example of team-stacking like the 2017 Warriors did. If they werent the GOAT team they really played under their potential. Has there even been a top 5 player join a team after a record-breaking season for wins and efficency like the GSW had in 2016 , then Durant signed with them? I can't think of a similar example in all of pro sports. It would be like if 2 top 5 WR and 2 top 5 defensive players signed with the patriots after their near undefeated season. Or if somehow Trout and Ted Williams signed with the murders row 30s Yankees.

As in every other conspiracy, just because it is possible that something shady CAN happen, that doesn't mean you should assume that something shady IS happening. Yes, yes, I know, "open your eyes sheeple!" and all that, but that isn't a good argument either guys. The NBA brushed off its very embarrassing referee scandal with ease (it was not just a few bad apples). Back ~10 years ago it was found that every...single...referee violated the contractual prohibition against gambling (mainly casinos). It's not a conspiracy. The referees, the arbiters of the game did not have integrity ergo the league/game itself was corrupted. The NBA (still to this very day) has not been forthright in revealing identities of referees in close contact with Tim Donaghy during his nefarious activities either. Fixing games wouldn't be the most effective way but it's still exceedingly superior to many other ventures. zapplez posted:Could there be any as good? Your analogy is extremely simplified. But some would do something like that anyway. Don't underestimate the avariciousness of the .1%. These are people who pay people min. wage and then turn around and hold cities ransom for tax breaks and act like they're running a utility. It's a lot more than $10,000,000. The total gross from a city winning a title is immeasurable.
