I work in Davis so it's probably more likely I would end up at a kings game than selling a kidney to go to a GSW game over the next few years.

There is apparently extended Yolo bus schedules/hours on game nights. So far, tickets to "non-desirable" games (i.e. Pelicans on a tuesday night) are relatively cheap on the secondary market. Alternatively let me know when you want to go to a game and I might have a spare ticket

Kings looked like an actual basketball team against a bad basketball team last night. If we can beat all the non-playoff teams this year I'll be pleased

Also WCS did this

I want to say he's like Tyson Chandler but slighter, and with more range to cover perimeter players. If he had a little jumper that would really set things off. Cousins is a good enough passer that they could develop a post passing thing with him cutting to the basket.

WCS tried a couple of jumpers from 15' out and they were ugly. But Joerger is starting Kosta Koufos next to Cousins so it's not like the spacing can get any worse by starting WCS instead.

Bit of a scuffle with DeMarcus Cousins on opening night, as two Kentucky guys, what was that all about?

We are brothers, it’s all love. We are both competitors too and I tried to get through a screen and he pushed me a little bit and I pushed him back, nothing more than that. People will blow it up, we both went to Kentucky but we both talked about it and laughed it off so it’s not a big deal.

Coach Calipari said he might take you in that fight:

Because he knows I’d go in with Tyler (Ulis), we’d go 2-on-1, we wouldn’t fight fair if we are going to fight.

I think in years down the line Lebron going to Miami will be seen as the start of new era basketball. The Celtics and Lakers champions 2008-10 feel closer in spirit to the 90s blueprint than they do to basketball in 2016*. LeBron's Miami team and the Spurs around the same time kickstarted the trend to a motion based, 4 out offense paired with high intensity defence and switching that dominates league thinking now. Of course the Suns were playing that way on offense in like 2005, but I feel it was that 11/12 Miami team that truly mainstreamed it and started people copying it rather than just writing off the Nash Suns as an anomaly you couldn't replicate.

* that's probably not analytically true as I'm sure someone will prove shortly, but it feels that way to me, whatever that's worth.

Back then people were drafting big men to be Bynum stoppers and figuring out ways to deal with that Bynum/Gasol/Odom frontcourt. at the thought of teams doing that now

I feel like "top 5" or "top 10" center in the NBA is a label that is tossed around without anyone attempting to count. Kind of like how people throw out "one of the best passing big men" label without attempting to compare to anyone else.
