I'm unironically excited to watch my bad overdribbling team stumble their way to the playoffs again. I hope Siakam is as good as people are predicting, and that Poeltl is good enough that it doesn't seem like we wasted a lottery pick on him.

He's really good at being big and using his bigness to be effective on defense around the rim. On offense, he can be relied on to finish dump-off passes and maybe hit some 8 ft jumpers occasionally. IIRC, he also sets effective screens.

It hurts to admit the truth, but the Hawks are a pretty good basketball team. I thought Dwight was basically in a tailspin defensively but if he gets back to at least Houston WCF quality they will be quite good. He was great tonight.

Budenholzer is legit one of the best coaches in the league. I remember seeing some graph for last season where Hawks led the league in wide open shots (and also led the league in having the worst % of those shots going in)

I was looking at the current MPG leaders on Basketball Reference, and I was surprised to see Kyle Lowry leading the pack, at 38.7. 10 players are currently averaging 3 full quarters played - Westbrook not being one of them, which kinda shocked me.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Fred VanVleet of the Raptors, who has averaged a grueling 0:26 MPG.

The Raptors are a fringe playoff team without Lowry busting his rear end every game. I'm kinda worried for this offseason cause Masai has looked like he's been exploring his options for a replacement starting PG, but at the same time Lowry is our oldest player with a really rough playstyle that has probably taken a toll on his body considering every time we get near the playoffs he's got health issues.
