I am looking forward to watching the Cubs, even if they're probably about to get summarily owned.

If you want a good look at why Arrieta has struggled this season, here it is. His mechanics are complicated as gently caress and he keeps losing them in the middle of the game and can't easily get back into them.

Whoever made the guess last page that Arrieta would throw a billion pitches without giving up a hit, you're looking pretty smart so far!

Thanks for swinging into an out instead of letting Arrieta walk the bases loaded.

It's just really loving weird how Jake completely loses his command like somebody flipped a switch. It's been going on for months and it still makes zero sense to me.

The most Baez of hits.

If this is all the offense the Cubs can muster against a pitcher who literally cannot throw anything but his fastball, there's no way in hell they're winning poo poo.

GET MY BELT SON posted:contreras is a framing artist Contreras was apparently one of the best pitch framers in baseball this year. Granted he also has a tendency to throw away what would otherwise be called strikes by popping straight out of the box and firing to first on a pick-off attempt so he's a bit rough around the edges.
