sonic games even if bad have always had some really good tracks so when i heard lost world had super generic music i felt really sad but i watched a gameplay vid and liked the first stage song

the original sonic trilogy look and sound really good, the game mechanics and level design are pretty meh though. sonic 3 and knuckles is the best sonic. I don't really care about any of the later ones. These are my Sonic opinions.

on the other end of the spectrum, i loving love bright color pretty lights all over the place at fast speeds, so sonic colors's aesthetic clicked perfectly with me

the wii games all looked really good, even if they weren't always the best actual games. like had the same effect as mario galaxy where you wondered how on earth the wii was even churning this out

unleashed is where they started bringing their a game on graphics (this is on pc so it might be cheating a bit, but the art direction was still rock solid) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBE2EFNQoEo and generations was cool cause seeing old zones reimagined like this was a treat for long time fans

that video reminds me of how much it pisses me off that unleashed style games apply a high pass filter over the cool music whenever you boost, and once you get good at the games you never stop boosting

it's the most playable of all the Sonic games from that era IMO the big thing people tend to forget about that game is there's only 6 Sonic levels & 4 Shadow levels, everyone knows there are other characters but it's easy to forget they take up so much of the game

I actually played a lot of the 1v1 SA2 games. My friends and I would just do the pyramid grind fest with house rule of once you get to that last room you have to immediately jump off the rail and try to nail the goal ring at that bottom

the gamecube sa2 was the first game i returned, didn't like it despite being a mega drive child before that. colours, generations and that sega transform racing game are all real good though

i swore off sonic after playing SA2 on teh 'cube and being super embarrassed at the cutscenes and the glitches and those loving driving levels. now that i have overcome my insecurities i can enjoy the sonic games again, all of them.
