Well dang :(

Also it seems that Determined is useless on a flame turret build, as kills only make it recharge once it's been destroyed. You can make it last longer with Tech Support, so there's no need to keep chucking them out that would benefit from a skill cooldown. Also neither LMGs or ARs can get Coolheaded so I just blew a shitload of money for nothing :argh:

Edit:

Unless I got a nice SCAR-H variant with Coolheaded and just kinda build around that? The real fucker here is snipers and heavies smashing the turret as well as LMB jerkasses hacking the loving thing.

It also seems the yellow Robust vest is kinda useless, the one that gives 10% more armor when in cover as you're often being flushed out of cover by grenades or heavies that just sprinted across the map to kick your turret to pieces and are now standing on top of you.

I could be completely wrong and your initial line of thinking is right, so don't give up hope entirely. And yeah, Coolheaded isn't available on full-auto weapons because it eliminates skill cooldowns entirely. The Caduceus named weapon used to have it before 1.4 and it was ridiculous how quickly you could pop your skills with it.

I think rocking a SCAR-H with Coolheaded wouldn't be a bad idea because they're solid guns now. I have one with Coolheaded in the third slot and I'm waiting to build up some more PHX coins before rerolling one of the talents on it.

Speaking of useless skills, Relentless is pretty bad for backpacks, too. I thought it might be novel having Firecrest and Relentless, but 5% healing on 4k flame turret damage is pretty measly when you have 150k health total. The trick to having your turret survive is to take a moment to find out where you can toss it that enemies can't climb to. Throwing them up onto elevated surfaces lets them rain fire down from on high and protect them from those jerk heavies with the added bonus of breaking their AI. Heavies prioritize kicking your turret above all else so if they can't reach it then their pathing breaks and they're pretty much free kills.

Yeah I'm always chucking my turret on top of poo poo, though sometimes I get a bad roll on environment props and then I get to see fatass heavies waddle themselves on top of all kinds of poo poo :haw:

So the downside is that the stash is still 70 items, but at least camos don't take up space any more.

Specialised + Savage is probably better than most 2PC set bonuses, and Specialised is going to be worth around 19k SP if you do not invest in Electronics at all.

4Striker/2Sentry with a Balanced G36 and a Tactical Sausage is working pretty well for me right now. The Sausage is hilarious because landing a few shots is good for 1/3 to 1/2 of the Striker bonus. I toyed with the opposite, 2Striker/4Sentry, but I find myself preferring the former split.

I miss my hilariously strong support build that was 4Reclaimer/2Tacticians, healing everything and spamming explosive bullets :sigh:

The best part was when the set was new and a lot of players didn't know about it, or what it did. So I'd casually matchmake into a Challenging mode instance, and suddenly everyone's losing their minds about, "Why is everything on fire!?!?!?" or "What's with all the explosions OH poo poo THIS IS COOL!" :black101:

So since Tuesday I've put together a Firecrest loadout, a 3 Hunters/3 Sentry AR/SASG loadout to spam headshots, and a Banshee set, all equally good. Did a quick solo run into DZ06W and took out a mob of cleaners and some LMB without getting instagibbed or roasted alive. I love this update.

So I did more testing with my DeadEye build when I got home from work. It's not done yet but so far I 1 shot reds, almost 2 shot purples and 4 to 5 shot golds. When I'm done with it im definitely going to 2 shot purples and maybe 3 to 4 shot golds. I didn't hit named enemies or players yet due to time but I'm happy with what the build can do so far.

BTW my skills are extra damage pulse and extra damage /Concealed from pulse mobile cover.

Almost always roll headshot damage, damage to elites and crit while stacking as much armor as possible.

Does the DeadEye 4-piece bonus work with red dot sights in the "zoomed in" state? I know the whole idea is that you ADS and become a crit machine, but I assume that it was also meant for snipers and therefore it's also assumed you'd have at least a 3.4x scope to look through. Seems like it would be quite useful if you maintained your over-the-shoulder view.

DaveKap posted:

Hold on a sec, the point of that video is to tell you what's important for making a min-max solo build with your survivability and DPS as high as you can get them. It's actually a very rigid model despite Skill-Up's initial proclamation that he's going to teach you to make your own builds. If you are primarily playing in a group you can and should be more flexible in your build.

Don't stack armor on everything just because you can; buff your DPS or skillpower instead because having teammates around means you dying isn't a guaranteed wipe. For that matter, use other gearsets besides 4-piece Alphabridge, 2-piece Nomad. There are a lot of viable ways to go about being successful in the game. While that video is good if you're lost for how to get started in the endgame, it can end up being unnecessarily restricting if you think that you're a failure if you don't hit the armor cap.

It is. It is time to jump in again. I'm playing through Shadow Warrior 2 and wondering if there's actual endless content at the end or not. I get the feeling with the patch notes that there may not be quite yet but they're perhaps working on it.

So I quit right after underground came out. If I just hop in with my moderately ok gear (mostly from falcon lost) even with the changes will I be able to just go out on an appropriate world tier and start farming loot? I had an M1A/SMG loadout I read they got nerfed some. Downloading the patch now to see just want to know if I should do some changes first or just go shoot things.

Yes. Just go out, run S&Ds and open world bosses and you'll get boosted up to Tier 4 in no time. Once you hit that, do HVTs and you're set. Or just run Underground a bunch, the only point of it is as another loot-gaining vector but it is, by no means, necessary for anything anymore.

Also of importance to those who haven't played in a while note that the "daily mission" marker on the map is also over one safe house. That is an indication of an S&D mission that is "high threat" which means you get bonus intel from it and probably more gear. Run the high threat S&D and when you're done, it will rotate to another safe house (or even be at the same safe house, I've had that happen before) as it's sorta like Diablo 3's Adventure/Bounty system where it tries to throw you at specific places for guidance and extra loot but is by no means required.

Stamina mod with Armour was in the Firewall, but reset on Friday. Now it's Firearms with armour ( great rolls but cost DZ bux ) 42nd St West, and an Electronics with armour in one of the LZ safehouses ( I can't remember which, but it wasn't a great roll anyhow ).

If you are doing a cash farming run ( specifically all of the purple caches from the subway below the park extraction point ), that shouldn't be a problem, but a Banshee 4 piece set means you will never lose experience or dz cash ever again ( unless you go rogue, you naughty boy you ).

In contrast to my main agent, who specs in tech and survivability with a supply station, I plan on being agile and hurty, up-close with shotguns and SMGs. I'm only level 10 so it's actually fun to do this on paper mache mooks, but will this be at all viable at level 30/end game? Of course, I'm not at all talking about min-maxing for DZ or incursions (gently caress both of those), but will it be a significant difficulty boost once I get that high, specced for getting in range of my enemies and pelting them? Or will I have to change up that play style eventually?

shotguns are really good right now, especially on console with the aim assist which makes them annoying in PVP. Massive said they're going to be tweaked soon but gave the impression that any changes will be more about lessening the impact of aim assist than nerfing them in any significant way.

SMGs are just alright at this point, but you should be ok if you are getting in close. I haven't really used them in a while though, since ARs got buffed
