they made teh sliding part spring-loaded, which was the part that made it ultra cool on the 8110 you have to manually push it down. sad!

this was the phone to have if you were truly a hipster in mid 2000 like my and my then gf were. mine was thick and had amazing battery life, hers was thin and had exchangeable covers held together by tiny hex screws. feature parity otherwise. \ when mine died and she switched to nokia e61 (ownage, but as mentioned the software was janky af), i took her phone and inserted the oversized battery from mine to create a comical monstrosity. sorry for my phone slash fiction, but maybe that's what this thread is for

you could hand that to anyone and within 5 minutes they would master the UI somehow managed to do cloud syncing of literally everything on device (even your current volume setting) and was built with java and ran on like a 25 mhz processor. A programmer at the company managed to hand-code an SSH client. they also got a version of their phone working that had a Game Boy Advance chipset and could have done OTA game downloads but lol nintendo

microsoft really didn't fail at mobile because they didn't have competent people working on interesting things, so many attempts which were some proper management and a touch of commitment away from being a good product e: reminder, the kin launched without a calendar app and was on the market for 48 days
