To all those who thought this whole O&A caper was at an end simply because Opie and Anthony are both now 100% unlistenable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0w_yf2ttbY&t=320s

I've pinpointed another annoying Sam-ism: He begins every interview with something like "Hey man, what's up?" It's such an open ended question and inevitably leads to rambly answers. That said, show's still great, especially when Jason Ellis is nowhere near the studio.

Hmmmmmmmmmm that's not good. He's just utterly charmless (not to mention all the other words ending in -less).

I've got to say, Jim's surprised me by doing a quite good job on post-election conversation. He's been measured and thoughtful and hasn't just gone after the easy comedy targets (crying university students etc). Removing him from Anthony "Open racist" Cumia and Gregg "Opie" "No opinion on anything to be honest widdya" Hughes continues to be a good move.

Now if only we can finagle Bobo a pair of free tickets to the next event, we may succeed in actually sending the Opster insane.

edit: more insane

Looks like more cryptic talk from Opie suggesting Jason Ellis is taking his time slot, and he's possibly getting punted from Sirius altogether. Cue a half baked, too late O&A reunion in Cumia's basement.

I'm not expecting expert political opinions, I'm just expecting an occasional joke. Not Sam Roberts acting as if he's a serious commentator whose opinions are original and compelling.

The other day, I listened to the Opie show for the first time in a long time, and he's still doing all the very annoying poo poo he's always done: high-pitched voice, making every single conversation about himself, contributing no jokes, struggling to pronounce things / intentionally mispronouncing things for some reason, tagging every semi-decent comedian's line with "......fawwkin' [comedian's name]". He is truly awful. That he has the gall to insult Jimmy's on-air presence makes him one of the last self-aware human beings in existence.

Eh, it's two different forms of sad. Opie a pathetic never-was who managed to get a few breaks (XFL, Son of Sam Scandal) that translated into jackshit, and who mistakes his show as being entertainment when it's really a cheap rest stop for cheap promotion.

Ant realized the futility of this on some level but choked when he was trying to make his own way in podcasts. Everything he's done since July 2014 has been one bad move after another, culminating in losing his sideline, rushing into his next gig, self-sabotaging his own attempt at a network, and losing talent left and right due to a lack of vision and management skill. His attempt to break into right-wing media is doomed simply because it's oversaturated with no-names as it is and many of them are true believers that trump (no pun intended) his casual comic persona. Ant could have also been a solid comedian in his own right but his bigotry and drinking have dulled that edge down to jack-loving-poo poo and have destroyed any chances of a solid career. Yeah, he has Ron Bennington and Jimmy over occasionally, but the last three years have really finished what the drinking and racism have started, and getting into fights with the tattered remains of the O&A fanbase have pretty much ended whatever good the show had left.

Not to wail on Ant too much -- Opie is worse comparatively -- but neither of the Boys have come out of 2014 even remotely well. They're just sad old men grasping onto a dying industry who hosed up and now are getting a dose of reality they haven't had in quite a few years.

Sorry dude your internet crapped out. What did you say?

Suprisingly well done.

I've dipped back into Bennington after a long time away, and happened to hit on the Ron-Chris shows from last week. They're hilarious - I forgot how effortlessly funny Ron is. Plus he mentioned that he's finally starting to watch The Wire, and I'll be interested to hear his reaction to that.

Just thought of my new ideal world: both Opie and Ant locked up in the same cell (the latter for a take-your-pick crime), doing local prison radio together. Would be hilarious, nice symmetry, and basically the Seinfeld finale.

I'll stop writing fanfiction now.

The live J&S show is great - basically an O&A era Super Show, minus the dead weight O. I also much appreciated Anthony's timing arriving five minutes into the show, which interrupted yet another tedious Derek bit.

Go to 1:26 for some voice acting mastery from one Sir Greggory Opie Hughes.

That is remarkably bad. The kind of voice acting you hear in a game and assume they just got some of the developers to do the bit parts.
