Why did people watch True Blood? It was inches away from just being straight up porn (rather animalistic porn at that). Why not just watch real porn?

Maybe if we had a sense of that, we could respond to people. Also, lol at the notion that American black people who aren't descended from slaves do not in some way feel the negative repercussions that derive from that. For 25 years, Congressman John Conyers Jr. has marked every session of Congress by introducing a bill calling for a study of slavery and its lingering effects as well as recommendations for “appropriate remedies.” Gee, I wonder why that hasn't passed?

But since we don't have a sense of what's going on, reparations are therefore bad?
This is consistent with their opinion on global warming and gun violence, just to lob a couple of extra bombs into the granary

My dear fellow, I don't understand what you meant by this turn of phrase. Is it a reference to the Wachowski sisters' film The Matrix? The use of the "RED" term here suggests we should instead "turn on" to radical socialism. Could you elaborate?

Wait so what was that thing earlier about Skyrim being full of white supremacists. My husband played Skyrim. Do I gotta get divorced? Those are expensive.
Skyrim was a popular vidcon so if he just played it, even for a good long while, and then moved on to other games, I don't think you need to fear anything more than his inadvertently attempting to purchase wares from cats. If however he is still playing it five years later and talks about a mod load order you may need to call the shop.

Is it the incoming or the outgoing senate who votes on the VP in case of a tie?

I love the absurd scenario where the democrats win the senate, but the presidential map is the one with red NH. (There isn't really a chance for it to happen, since it requires losing Nevada but winning Maine 2.) In that case it might end up being Trump/Kaine. Of course there would be riots though. After all, in that scenario, Clinton wins the popular vote by 2-3 points.

It really would be the perfect top for the most insane election in the last few decades.
I don't think this is the case any more, though it was for the first couple of elections. Trump would probably not want Kaine for vice president on the reasonable expectation that Kaine would probably call on his brother, the Undertaker, to raise a host of the dead to slay him.

Dude what you were saying was a white supremacist talking point. Then you called my objection to your white supremacist talking point "word policing." That's the lol.

And we circle back to your hysterical focus on how the greatest problem with you saying bigoted things is that other people think poorly of you for it.
Reminds me of the parable of the Racist Tree.

God, though, it's just astonishing how a great many people are so mortified of being thought rude that they... don't... change their behavior or improve their manners at all? Nobody is asking someone to assume some pose of great deference. A brief and sincere apology to a specifically wronged person and moving on with a resolve to do better is all that etiquette demands, yet I feel many a person would rather face bullets than do that.

So what happens if, like, McCrory decides to cancel the election or gets the lege to ram through some kind of thing like South Carolina had in the past, where the state's electors are determined by the legislators? To be clear for those with weak stomachs, this is mere speculation, I am just curious what the fallout of something like that would actually be. Obviously the Republicans would endorse it as good because it helps them, if perhaps with some defections...

Daring to ever question a Republican on what they actually plan to do or not posting every single conspiracy theory from Drudge is intolerable "bias" to conservatives these days much like not being sufficiently fanatical makes you a liberal RINO. They're angry that they don't benefit enough from the media outside their propaganda outlets and want to show off their cred to the base. Needless to say, there is no way such an investigation would lead to anything remotely positive.
Yeah they're kind of in a bind here, because like, 30% of their message is "MEDIA BIAS!!!" but at this point the media bias is almost entirely in their favor where it exists at all? Like it's not that you can't ever see positive words about a Democrat, but compare Trump to Clinton coverage on even a casual basis. They ignored her rallies entirely to show footage of an empty podium Trump might speak at in a while.

That's just completely bullshit. Early America was religious as all hell, what with the amount of people being Christian being way over 90% and regular attendance at churches being way more common.

To say nothing of how for a very long time, until Supreme Court rulings of the 50s-80s, all sorts of explicitly religious stuff was mandated in government and education.
While religious belief was widespread, sentiment against public recognition of religion save in a very generic sense was surprisingly contentious. We all know about the Barbary Pirates treaty quote, but there is also the fact that "Under God" wasn't added to the pledge of allegiance OR our currency until after World War II, and there were many efforts to oppose funding of parochial schools on the grounds that that would be supporting a religious institution. The Bible was more widely used for educational purposes but I believe at least part of this would be that a Bible would be one of the most readily available books, even going back into the 19th century.

The election would be over. Pundits would be stumbling over each other demanding her to step down in favour of Tim Kaine. There'd be a vast congressional investigation.
To indict the staffers
