I thought our source from the show said otherwise? I thought at the very least the stunt props were just toys.

I had an enormous collection of DW episodes I'd taped off PBS. Every Christmas and Birthday my dad would buy me a few packs of VHS tapes so I didn't have to record over anything. I hung onto them for years despite starting to collect the DVDs.

I'd read elsewhere that Hurt knew he was dying for quite some time and rather than seek treatments that would extend his life but vastly diminish the quality of it he chose to dive into additional work.
