Are you using an iPad Pro/Apple Pencil? How is it for artwork? I'm seriously considering investing in one.

Almost the end of December, so that means it's time to officially give up on reaching my goal for NaNoManGo and work on my Christmas card instead.

I am open to suggestions for what text to include on the inside of the card.

As far as art goes, the Samsung Note & Note Pro are my favorites. Of course I haven't tried Apple yet, so I might be biased. Does Apple jave the Wacom digitizer too?

"Hail Santa" or "Ia Ia Santa Ftaghn". This has gotta be the most interesting Santa pic I've ever seen btw.

Guess what has befallen me and will continue to fall for another week:

Hey, sorry if this is weird to ask in the thread, but you don't have PMs -- I really love your cat drawings and was wondering if you would be open to do a comission for me of my hellbeasts. You can contact me at BLORPBADORP

Awww shucks, thanks so much dude! Your paintings are freakin' awesome too. Do you happen to have any tips on digitally coloring a greyscale image? I tried an overlay layer buuuut I'm not so sure that's the best way to do it, any tips would be super appreciated. :)

Thanks! As for coloring grayscale images, you can use a layer set to Color mode, but you may find that your underlying values weren't correct. Also you can end up with a kind of sterile "hand-tinted photo" look. What I do most often is turn the grayscale into a burnt umber reddish brown tone, turn the opacity down most of the way, and do a painting over that using a combination of Multiply and Normal layers. The multiply layers act like glazing with watercolor or thinned oil/acrylic. Then when the core darks and base colors are good, do highlights and other details on the opaque Normal layer. This would be the equivalent of gouache or impasto oil/acrylic.

I have process videos for a bunch of my Procreate paintings if you want to see the rough process I use:

That's an interesting technique, it definitely has a very authentic traditional feel to it. I know exactly what you mean by it looking flat and "hand tinted" to use a color layer, I'll keep your method in mind when I try to color it again. Thanks for the help!

Man, I fell off the wagon hard, but I got back on again and I've reached vehicles on drawabox:

I was drawing along with a video so it's missing a lot of detail like rounding out the edges and some egregious mistakes were made like the giant gap between the treads and body that shouldn't have been there, but I'll remember it all for next time.
