Writing in or voting for a 3rd party candidate (or not voting at all) does not make a statement because making a statement requires somebody to give a poo poo about what you did, which neither of the parties do. You can "vote your conscious" or whatever but no one is going to pay any attention aside from a couple pointless thinkpieces after the election.
