I really miss rMut being more readily available. Trove showed up this game. 15 Teleport scrolls. Rough nowadays since Teleport doesn't show up on wands. Luckily, they show up in Abyss, so I scummed for 7 or so.

I really like the mutation changes. 39% chance of getting a whole set of good muts sounds great. Don't get a nice set? Well, you'll likely have 16 more potions to try for a better set. This will also encourage eating the purple since it will be simpler to clear a bad set. edit: Being able to easily clear bad muts makes malmutate less awful. The rarity of Cure Mut made it dangerous to experiment in case you get malmutated. This just means you'll be rotating through different ones after Slime or periodically during extended. High Elves should come back with the opposite ability of Bultungins. They learn slowly at first, but when they stick with a skill they can become an expert on it. -6 to start -4 at skill level 4 -2 at skill level 12 0 at skill level 16 +2 at skill level 20 and +4 at skill level 24. -10% hp +10% mp high starting stats, but slow gains to int and dex +5 mr per lvl edit: And Bultungins should get a reduction in their skill penalty at level 23 or something. I do miss things that have been removed, but overall I thing the game is significantly better than it was a few years ago. The Tomb changes are the ones I probably disagree with the most. Extended is such a slog and Tomb has always been the worst of it. Greater Mummies are loving awful. Without being able to stairdance to get away from their summons, I'll stick to 14 rune games from here on out. Crawl has become much more accessible to new players over the last few years. The learning curve isn't so steep. Having all of the info about monsters, items, and deities available in game without having to navigate the help menus is probably the best set of changes made.
