I don't think he did terribly, it was pretty clear that he's had some lights-out pitchers and some shaky ones, and he wanted the former rested. He was burning the others in what was a pretty certain loss. The big problem was trying to rely on his core pitchers (Kluber, Miller, Allen, etc.) through many appearances and short rest, and hoping it didn't come back to bite him in the rear end. It did. Whoops! Against any other team, however, it probably would've worked. Respect, Cleveland. CubsWoo posted:The Cubs are undefeated in November Truer words hath never been spake. Well the Cubs finally won, so...this is fine! I'm ready to die now! In fact I died during the 4th inning but that's just a minor technicality. That seems like it would be a fake news article, though, which makes a good segue into this: The Onion posted:THE HEAVENS—Following a 8-7 victory over the Cleveland Indians that clinched the team’s first World Series title since 1908, sources confirmed Wednesday that millions of intoxicated Chicago Cubs fans are currently rioting across Heaven.

Sending both guys out there on short rest (especially Bauer who was bad all postseason) while not being ready to pull them if trouble hit was such a bad move, and you can't do that when you're the worse team. The Cubs were the much better team and actually played to win 4 out of 7, while the Indians played to win 3 and then hope to steal a 4th. It almost worked, but it shouldn't have and it didn't. Congrats, you deserved the win.

If I wasn't a dumb Cub fan I'd be rooting for Cleveland, what a loving awesome team.

Dexo posted:Gonna go to the Arizona Cardinals. Or perhaps the Cleveland Indians? In any event, I can still hardly believe this is real. I was the weeping 7-year-old when they blew it in 1984. I was a sad 12-year-old in 1989. 1998 never happened. I vividly remember every moment of what me and my friends were doing during Game 6 in 2003. I swore off emotional involvement with the Cubs after the 2008 playoff debacle (my dad had done that in 1969, relenting only - literally - seconds before the Bartman Ball went aloft). I swore at that time I wouldn't get hooked again until I saw something they'd never shown me - less than five outs away from the Series with a lead. I rescinded that last Saturday night in the company of my closest friends. All the while I promised myself that if they ever actually won it all the first thing I'd do would be to call my dad. Tonight was that loving night, and I did. Also remembering my grandpa, who was the actual reason I became a Cubs fan as a kid (since my dad had disavowed them in 1969; see above). He passed away at the age of 92 last summer, just before they took off and leveled up. He must have knocked some heads together up there.
