I am sad that Dex is leaving, but the Cardinals having to pay a Matheny tax for free agents is a delightful development

It's rumors, but honestly I'm inclined to believe it. I was at the Dodgers game where Hammel got pulled in the 3rd, and he was absolutely loving furious. Getting left off every single postseason roster probably didn't help that relationship much either.

You can't get left off of a postseason roster if your team doesn't make the playoffs
