If I was playing solo I'd often even take the long way to a mission location instead of quicktraveling just for the fun of it. I liked to play 'streets are lava' when I was on a character with super-jumping... which was often. Having super-running and super-jumping on at the same time wasn't particularly beneficial, but it looked fantastic. I still remember doing a Task Force (a string of group-required adventures) on Striga Island at night, and watching a couple of teammates with that power combination shoot through the sky like comets.

When I got to Orr at the very end of 2014, people told me that it used to be worse. The Secret World is really bad for that kind of thing too. It's a large part of why I don't often go back to it.
