(not a good game for screenshots but sssh I'm still pleased I figured out the puzzle, regardless of how simple it ultimately was)

Stardew Valley: pictured: myself, trapped in the chicken coop because the mayo container is making mayo and I can't move it, but that duck won't move so I'm trapped. I was in there for at least an hour thanks to that drat duck! (Yes I moved the container once it was done so I can always escape)

I haven't played or heard of a few of these games mentioned in the thread. But usually I can guess what the game is about or at least the genre of it. Without googling, I'm going to assume this is maybe a turn based RPG or RTS and you're fighting rays of light and rainbow orbs? Or you're shooting a projectile of sorts and that rainbow line is your trajectory..and gravitational forces from stars and those orbs are manipulating your aim?

Haha, not quite: Immortal Defense is a Tower Defense game! You're defending "path space", which is essentially where sci-fi ships go when they're in hyperspace, in this universe. You play as the defender who gave up their body and life to live immortally in this zone as you defend your planet from invaders. The plot gets interesting from there, as does the gameplay - you place different/weird towers (aspects of your emotions) and your cursor has its own piddling attacks + a charge attack that influences some towers and does worthwhile damage.

It's one of the best TDs on Steam, basically!

Think Diablo 2 or Path of Exile but weirdly slow and janky, and everything is gray. Click to move, click to shoot, left crtl to reload, and you can push alt to crouch. I'm only like twenty minutes into it, and I'm getting the hang of it, but it's definitely feeling like a game by the Pathologic devs in a sense - I mean it's nowhere near as good and not made by them, but it's bleak, weirdly translated(?) and while the gameplay is recognizable it's unpolished?

Not sure if I'd rec it or not. Pick it up if you want something exceedingly weird?

Bonus: here's the character screen for level ups:

Every square is a skill ranging from "shoot rockets" to "do more damage with this weapon type."
