Yes a president that prevented and turned around a massive economic problem.

A president who passed Dodd Frank, a president who ended up making the money back from the Tarp funds they sent out?

So loving miss me with the Obama sold out the country to his Wall Street friends.

Could he have done more sure. But it's disenginuous as gently caress to act as if Obama is some massive corporate stooge.

He's still very much a capitalist, so those who favor full on socialism will have issues, but man people really loving ran with Obama being a corporate shill.

The most recent thing is West clearing a line about Taylor on Famous to Taylor her giving the OK and then playing victim when the song came out, Kanye said he got clearance and she lied and said he didn't. Then Kim dropped a video of the conversation and TayTay switched it to her problem being called a bitch and not the I made her famous part(which is the only thing she brought up previously)

I've always felt Kanye was treated unfairly by the media and I've come to his defense whenever my white friends have something to say about him.

Kanye is what you call a problematic fav.

Most of what white people get on Kanye about is usually laughable and usually overreacting.

The real problematic poo poo Kanye says is stuff about Black women, like Amber, his Trump stuff, and Racism doesn't exists crap.

I actually like the Mia character from Death Note significantly better than the Misa character from the original. She actually has agency and her own personality rather hang just being Lights yes lady.

That movie would have been better served changing the names of p much everyone. And not referencing the Japanese names at all. Just keeping the concept of a Death Note.

The Japanese Death note live action movie exists and is actually good(better ending than the manga for sure). I don't need or really want another exact retelling of the manga's L story. Do and try new stuff. And the Light and Mia relationship and scheming is cool, like the framing of this stereotypical corny high school love story within a series where the "climax's" involve mass murder is a cool idea.

The casting stuff aside I genuinely enjoyed Death Note. But only because I just took it as it's own thing rather than trying to be an adaptation of a manga. I viewed it kinda like how every Sherlock Homes adaptation tweaks characters and settings to suit what the director wants.

like manga Misa was much just a Yes, master. I will do whatever you tell me to do master. While Light did not give a flying gently caress about her.

That is way more offensive to me than Mia's character. But I'm not female so I dunno if that's just me.

Sure there is. Tons of ways you can handle everything but what does it matter one way or another. It's mostly executed well and I love it.

This movie very clearly is not trying to be a direct adaptation. Light Turner and Light Yagami are not supposed to be the same characters they outline that at the start where Ryuk has to tell LT to use the notebook, while LY does it with no goading.

These better writers than me pretty much sum up my feelings on this movie.

I just don't making misa/mia into a cliché as old as the Bible is an improvement at all

That's cool, it's your prerogative if you like it or not. I get not liking it, but I think it's done well here, and makes the Light T./Mia relationship more interesting and relevant than the Light Y./Misa one.

My aunt who makes the deviled eggs is always late as poo poo. So we are all sitting down eating when she shows up. It's a mad rush back to the kitchen when she gets there.

Yeah people are lovely.

In general younger(sub 40) black women I've ran across don't usually care if a black dude is dating a white chick. So long as the black dude isn't that dude(the, oh man white chicks really know how to treat a king blah blah blah, rear end motherfucker)

That dude deserves any and all poo poo that gets tossed his way. Someone who just happens to be dating a white chick is usually whatever.

However you do have some hating rear end black chicks who hate seeing a black dude and white women because it takes a "good black man" out of the dating pool away from a black woman who needs one(usually them)

Older than 40 and it's usually a self defense mechanism, my mom gave me hella lectures about how you can't trust white chicks, and to protect myself whenever I found myself dating one

Here I thought I was maximum whiteness but drat not even a jar of lovely Kraft barbecue sauce on some ribs?

And there's some people that will boil ribs a little because it softens them up for the grill. Usually you put, like, spice in the water to make it more of a broth you're boiling it in. Boiled chicken is just... what is that?

I'll Boil chicken out of sheer laziness if I'm going to be shredding it for like a chicken salad or something. Boil them in some salt water.

Hey so the new South Park video game adjusts your character's skin color based on your chosen difficulty.

Poly posted an article today where they make their little South Park dude and there harder the game is set, the darker your character's skin color becomes. The game explains that your skin color determines how other people in he game will treat you when they first meet you.

So basically reddit is screaming bloody murder and the official response so far has been "LoL if this bothers you then you are probably a racist."

It bothers me in so much as I have absolutely zero faith in Matt and Trey to execute that well at all.

You can also change your gender pronouns in that game.

I have zero faith in them handling that well either(especially how they handled it on the show previously)
