He was a windbag with hot takes when he just wrote 19 page articles about how to drive to Las Vegas fast and somehow got worse on TV when you attach his whiny voice to his hot takes.

He seems to be a good manager and producer.

His audio output has always been bad and his written stuff went stale about... yeah, you know what, 2004 is about right Fiz.

Didn't he spearhead the 30 for 30 stuff? If so he rules for that.

Also, lol @ Pete Carroll commenting on Gillette Stadium.

quote:

"It's not a great place," Carroll told 710 ESPN Seattle. "They weren't nuts. It's because they're so used to winning. There was a time when they kicked their last field goal to go ahead, and it was like a round of applause for a nice effort. Gosh, our guys would be going berserk. We're so hungry for it."

He's not really that wrong.

It's not really a fair comparison.

Cheering for the NFL is still so relatively new in Seattle.

Simmons is arguably good when not talking about current sports topics, which is ironically a terrible trait for someone in sports journalism. 30 for 30 owns and I actually enjoyed all of the weird pop culture tangents he'd go on in his articles and in the BS Report, but he's not going to say anything about current sports that I couldn't get from talking to strangers in a bar during a game.

Bears just lost Kyle Long for the rest of the season

Besides Cutler, Alshon, Kevin white and I think one of the Fuller brothers I'm having trouble naming a single bears starter

Edit: Floyd but that's recency bias

Through a combination of Chiefs defensive ineptitude and Gano doing just well enough (one decent return?) Lee's injury mattered a lot less than I was hoping it would in that game.

Sucks that he's on IR now though.

Kadeem Carey.

What? My fantasy running back cupboard is bare. I guess it's not even a starter, just part of a rotating backfield.

just one game?!?!?!

quote:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Rob Gronkowski suffered a punctured lung in Sunday night's Week 10 loss to the Seahawks.

According to RapSheet, Gronkowski "could miss just one game," which would suggest he's at least out for Week 11 against the 49ers. It's not a bad game to miss, as the Patriots should handle the hapless San Francisco team, but fantasy owners will have to find a replacement with the playoffs right around the corner. We assume Gronkowski was hurt on the Earl Thomas hit.
