Venom Snake, I hope you're right the DNC will bend the knee to Sanders. I was basically a establishment backer (New York Yuppie liberal that donated every four years) my entire life, and holy poo poo, I want to run the Clinton's out of the country right now.

In all honesty, I mocked Sander's chances during the primaries, but he was absolutely right about everything so gently caress me. I'm not really alone either. There's just a complete collapse in faith in the DNC amongst the liberal professionals I know, and they backed Clinton 100% until the moment everyone realized they were taken for a ride.

If the Sanders faction makes a play for New York, DO NOT loving block him. You're risking open war with your ur-base.

They sold the win.

I think this is the big take away. All of a sudden all the conspiratorial gripes by both Sanders and even Trump surrogates are not only validated, but it makes anyone who believed in the establishment look like complete idiots. Like, if the polls were actual garbage and dunking on Trump 24/7 was a waste of time then what else sold to us as necessary parts of the political sausage making machine are actually necessary?

Back in 2006, I was angry. Angry at the Republicans, angry at the weakness of the Dems. I was hard left, and wanted to destroy the current government.
Then later Obama happened. Yea! He was a good person. I started to calm down.
We got piddling reforms, and I supported the Dems and blamed Republicans for not getting more done.
And by the the 2016 came around, my personal life was more secure, therefore more of the same was a great idea, right? So I supported Hillary.

Never again. Burn the loving DNC to the ground. I want a socialist, and I want him to force his agenda on America, Stalin style. Letting Trump win is disgusting. Democratic hubris will destroy years of progress, and hurt millions.
gently caress weak willed centrists. Never again.

Minus your first paragraph and this is me. I supported the establishment fullstop until today. Now I want to burn it to the ground.

No. I dealt with surrogates and talking points. Not super high level poo poo like "what do we make the campaign about". What I do 100% know is I got told at times that I shouldn't be worried about keeping the dem base excited :suicide:

Did the DNC not just ..... arggh.. just not pay attention to loving anything?

"Democrats fall in love, Republicans fall in line." is a trope for a loving reason.

Yeah seriously. There are legitimate complaints about his tenor as president. but holy poo poo, was he the coolest president we've ever had full stop. No loving contest.

Fun fact my whole family is poor rural whites. In fact my mother was am Okie when she was a kid and never went to the same school two years in a row because they moved between California and Missouri constantly, my sister married a marine and lives in a town of less then 1000 people, my nephew spent a year in prison for meth addiction, and my niece had a child when she was 17 years old. Nobody in family voted for Trump, but you know what they didn't vote for Clinton either. They aren't racists, and they aren't sexists(loving lol if you tried to say that to my mother), but what they all are (including myself) is poor. and I know for a fact all us would have gladly voted again for Bernie Sanders. Moral of the story is that there still in this country a strain of that Woodie Guthrie type socialism in this country, but somebody needs to come and try and get their vote, and maybe just maybe not condescend to them that all they are is racist hicks and nothing else.

This is it. I had a fuckin LOL and holy poo poo conversation with my siblings and my SO where we legit questioned how we would befriend with people without college degrees. And we all came up loving blank. Like just even the music festivals are staffed with degree'd people.

Yeah. I blame Hillary for the loss. But this is bigger than the DNC alone.

I fully admit us east coast white collar people are completely out of touch.

People going "Geez why did the working poor identify with a NY billionaire?" are really stupid. He may be a billionaire, but he also went on WWE and took a stunner from Steve Austin and shaved Vince McMahon's head.

No self respecting Manhattan socialite would even entertain the idea of that in a million years.

That's why the working poor trusted him. He was basically them, but successful with a hot wife. How is this not self evident.

This election was basically us proving every stereotype about liberals being out of touch being completely 100% right.

Lol at loving that. To pass his tariff Trump basically has to leave the WTO. China will step in and fill that vacuum. Good luck trying to reign in China then.

If you want something CONCRETE to do right this second, right now contact your Democratic representative and plead with them to back Bernie Sander's pick for DNC chair, Keith Ellison.
Here's my letter to Chuck Schumer, which I hope at least one of his people reads:

"Dear Mr. Schumer,

First I'd like to say that I've been a Democratic supporter my entire adult life. I donated for both Obama and Clinton, and voted for her over Bernie Sanders in the NY primary. I voted for you in this election, and until Tuesday night, considered myself a firm supporter of the 3rd Way centralism.

I mention this only to show that I realize the seriousness of situation and what must be done. Please please please do the right thing and back Bernie Sander's pick, Keith Ellison, for the DNC chairman, and let Bernie's movement lead the party. The credibility of the establishment Democrats has been destroyed utterly. I have called into question my own judgement for not seeing the populist movement that is reshaping America. There is only one way forward, and one person who can lead it.

If we re-unite and fight together under a common banner we can re-take our country in 2020. I absolutely believe this. But if we, Democrats, have a civil war between the progressive and centralist wing it will be the end of liberalism of all stripe.

I implore you. Please do the right thing. There is no going back to the old ways."

I appreciate the sentiment, but Chuck Schumer is the literal epicenter of the cancer in the Democratic party. He'll probably print out your letter on some fine resume grade paper and wipe his rear end with it.

Yeah. You're absolutely right. I actually voted for the Republican that was running against him because she was a no-name that had 0 chance of winning, and I really loving hate Chuck Schumer (yeah, I lied in the letter. What can I say).

But maybe in that black little heart of his his turgid blood will move an inch.
