As a Kings fan, should be I happy if we get Miles Bridges with the Pelicans pick?

I think Malik Monk would be perfect for Philly mostly because it would leave a PG on the board for the Kings

I think Markkanen would be perfect for Minnesota because it would leave a SF/PF on the board for the Kings

Kyrie already demonstrated at least some enjoyment in passing in college, like there's a reason that Monk gets the Lou Williams comp. Yeah sometimes he can run an offense, heck sometimes he can even run it well, but in reality he just really seems like he wants to call his own number, and, heck sometimes that's great too, but in the end he's 6'2" and probably won't be able to defend SGs which is really the only place he's probably safe being played at with that mentality so you can only get so much out of him.

That's why the Sixers should draft him because their PG will be 7' Simmons and they will conveniently leave Smith or Fox on the board for the Kings.

OG Anunoby declared for the draft. Someone please tell me how excited I should be if the Kings miss out on Issac and get to choose between him and Bridges

Mavs somehow lose so the Kings end up probably at #8, which is ok I guess because they'll have a good chance at landing a good PG or SF prospect, provided that someone else takes Monk or Markkannen

Chad Ford said that no one wants to work out from the Kings. But either he's recycling quotes or just talking to the same agent
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/6bdlrw/either_chad_ford_is_talking_to_the_same_agent/

quote:

Quote from last year's Draft Combine:
"It's the most dysfunctional team in the NBA," one agent said. "I've had several clients there. They were miserable. Miserable. They don't know what they're doing. And nothing they've done this spring has changed my opinion. It would be malpractice to send one of my clients there."
Quote from this year's Draft Combine:
"It would be malpractice to let my clients play for them" one longtime agent said. "I've had clients there. It's still the most dysfunctional front office in the league, by a mile. How can you trust those guys with one of your players? It's going to take a long time to build that trust."

Also apparently the Kings are getting looks at players
http://www.sactownroyalty.com/2017/5/15/15630594/sacramento-kings-predraft-visits-lottery-vlade-divac-scott-perry

quote:

Not only did Markelle Fultz, the player most believe will go with the top overall pick, sit down with the Kings brass, Sacramento got the first crack at an interview with the guard from Washington. Perry, the team’s new executive vice president of basketball operations has ties to the Fultz camp, which is usually the way this all works.

quote:

“We have as a company (CAA), four or five guys that are going in the top 20,” agent Aaron Mintz told NBC Sports California. “They will all be going to Sacramento and we are very hopeful that the Kings will take one if not two of them.”

quote:

“If other people see problems, we see enormous opportunity,” BJ Armstrong told NBC Sports California about Sacramento.

So I guess Chad Ford is still a hack and hiring Perry is already working out for the Kings

If NO gets top 3, they keep the pick. Rolls over to next year with top 1 protection ( vlade doesn't understand what these pick protections are)

If the pick is in the top 10, then the Kings keep the pick and owe the Bulls nothing

Pick swap does not roll over.

It is entirely possible that the pick swap and the Bulls pick don't convey and our extremely terrible trades get downgraded to just boneheaded

If I am the 76ers and I am 100% convinced that Ben Simmons can handle the bulk of creating on the offensive end of the ball, then Lonzo is an interesting idea. He is a long PG who can shoot open shots and can run in transition both with and without the ball. It's likely his ideal sitation.

What about Monk? Not saying he's the same level of prospect, but a lot of Monk's flaws or issues can be mitigated if you have a 6'10" dude playing point for you

Hmm, "literally never moving up in the draft" sounds better than "oh god keeping our spot and not moving down is like the best thing that happens for us". Also you've drafted in the top 3 three times in the last 10 years

Also point to me the last time the Kings moved up in the draft and then look at the class that year

WhyteRyce
Dec 30, 2001

Look, a team that has been in the top 3 three times in the last decade and got the #1 the year KAT was on the board can't complain about how bad they've had it compared to other teams. We haven't drafted in the top 3 since Christian Laettner was running around Duke
