Are we ready to crown Lamar Jackson the best prospect since Andrew Luck?

Daltos... I'm someone that follows college football and the NFL draft very well, and I came across something this evening that shocked me. Bleacher Report (yes, yes, but read on)'s Matt Miller has QB Josh Allen, of Wyoming, going third overall to the Bears. I...admittedly have watched zero of him. At all. Mind giving me some thoughts as to why he's justified to go within the top 3?

Mike Williams is the clear cut #1 WR this draft.

Metapod posted:yeah pretty much Mike Williams is definitely not lasting to the Titans. Even Corey Davis may not.

With a brilliant performance he may be justified going #5....but man, there are two fantastic safeties that should still be there at 5, and the Titans could really use one.

Which QB has a chance of dropping to 25 for the Texans? Brad Kaaya?

Dude I would be a-OK with Kaaya at 25. I've kind of liked him all year.

Honestly I wouldn't even mind taking someone like Nathan Peterman in the 2nd or 3rd. He kind of reminds me of Kirk Cousins coming out.

I'm not even being like Parmesan and demanding a team with Alex Smith to draft a QB (I would kill for Alex Smith). This is a team that has had the following QBs start the last three seasons: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brian Hoyer, Brock Osweiler. Am I really going that far on a limb on this one? What the gently caress would you do if your franchise went into the last three seasons with that at quarterback? Yes, of course I'm going to continue to want a quarterback to be drafted high.

Actually don't draft a RB in the first.

Is John Ross the #1 WR now?

Surely a 4.22 40 means he's fully recovered from the ACL. The shoulder surgery a much more minor concern IMO.

I think removing all loyalty to a team because they drafted Tyreek Hill is a really, really dumb thing to do.

Myles Garrett is absolutely a top 5 (and a top 1 pick) in most drafts.

zimbomonkey posted:According to some sources Joe Mixon is climbing up draft boards. If he goes in the first round, gently caress the NFL. I would say that about any round but I don't have that much faith in the NFL. It's lovely but the fact he did it in college and teams can argue "B-b-but second chances and he'll get a fresh start in the NFL!" will ensure he gets drafted highly.
