Hey, if it's good, I'll gladly end up liking it. So far though, I question the decisions made.

I mean y'all seemed pretty resigned before even starting. I haven't played any of FF either but it looks much more enjoyable than Hunters already

Also sure getting health as a weapon is kinda weird but being able to both spray out pick-ups for yourself and heal your allies in a firefight seems pretty neat

That Phillistine!

Side question: is getting a 3ds worthwhile? I'm thinking that it might be fun to play through the 3ds fire emblem(s) and Monster Hunter(s) but I haven't given it much thought.

It's the best system on the market

For the record, the control scheme in Uprising is perfect. You just had to learn it, which can be a challenge but it's not significantly harder than learning any other control scheme out there.

People also bitched about dual-stick controls in FPS's on consoles when they first came out, because it wasn't mouse+keyboard therefore it sucked. Only after Halo, which was explicatively designed around using dual sticks, did people appreciate them as a viable way to play.

Uprising's controls are good (albeit tricky to learn) but the real problem is how unergonomic the 3DS is to hold imo, especially in mostly one hand

man there are a lot of hilarious webcomics to be made about the scale in this game

Finding an item just feels way better than getting permission to use something you already have, even if the end result is the same (getting a new ability). That illusion of agency is super important

Okay yeah that level design was pretty bad, that boss had waaay too much health (especially for a shooter without automatic weapons), and that escape sequence being half elevator was just kind of pointless

get that OUT of my face posted:

Samus is out there blasting Space Pirates and discovering a massive weapon they want to build, and you're stuck escorting a power cell cart in a mission not at all optimized for one player. Federation Force actively hates you for buying and playing it.

I don't think Federation Force has anything but apathy for its players

Oh noo, you died in that cutscene :( I played through AM2R myself a week ago on Hard difficulty and had a blast doing it since it was really challenging. I've never seen Federation Force before I found your LP and my goodness, what has this series devolved into?

Apologies if someone already asked this earlier in the thread, but if you feel like doing more Metroid games after you've completed AM2R have you played through Super Zero Mission? It's my favorite Super Metroid ROM hack and I think it deserves a larger audience. I'd say AM2R beats it quality-wise what with the better engine and all, but give it a try sometime if you haven't.
