Republicans have maintained their majority in the House and the Senate. While we had a Democratic president, they blocked every single move he made, including delaying 9 months thus far in confirming a supreme court justice (ps they still haven’t bothered to hold confirmation hearings). With a Republican president, we can expect them to push through as much legislation as they can, removing healthcare away from 20million+ people, environmental laws that protect our health and land, regulations on banking and investment firms, net neutrality, and even removing the regulation that lets workers get overtime pay when they work longer hours. http://www.npr.org/2016/11/10/501597652/fact-check-donald-trumps-first-100-days-action-plan BUT! The Democratic minority in the Senate could be used to prevent some of the crazier treaties and harmful legislation that Trump et al propose. And the larger the number of non-Republicans in the Senate, the more Republicans will have to actually work with others and compromise. There’s one final Senate seat up for grabs, in Louisiana. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/story/news/2016/11/09/louisiana-runoff-election-set-dec-10/93545064/ Louisiana will vote in the election between Nov 26 and Dec 10.
