I'm guessing in the other world, Ash either died before becoming a phantom, or ditched his world's Marona. Sadly the pedo comments are kinda common in japanese media, still pretty off putting.

I can't disagree about it being a cliche ending, but considering this game? It was a well done cliche at least. And of course, with the first mission coming back around, it's nice to see that Other Marona will start down the path of making some friends. I did laugh at the "everyone came back to life" part. You can imagine Ash muttering "except me..."
