Lately there's a lot of short anime. That's not a bad thing. Five minutes is pretty great amount of time for adapting comic strips, which can help avoid stretching the material beyond it's breaking point as sometimes unfortunately happens. But making multiple threads for them feels a little wasteful. They're bite sized, after all. So I wanted to make a thread where they can be discussed in general. Here's a few I like: Ninja Girl & Samurai Master AKA Nobunaga's Ninja The Devil King of the Sixth Heaven isn't just starring in Drifters in Fall 2016. This is a historical comedy featuring Oda Nobunaga's rise to power starring a ninja named Chidori, who is as skilled as she is adorable. Features a colorful cast of historical idiots, with good natured comedy that'll probably remind you of good childrens anime. Kaiju Girls: The Ultra Kaiju Anthropomorphization Project The massive monsters of Tsuburaya's 50 year old franchise are back... and this time they're moe! Or well, more moe. In outfits that are kind of gross. Except 99% of the time they're drawn like this: So it's not quite as horny as it might otherwise be. Despite the nakedly commercial premise (hey, it's tokusatsu baby) it's a pretty funny show about what would happen if magical girls were managed by a bureaucracy, with lots of shout outs for fans of the Ultraman universe(s). Anyway, feel free to talk about and post your own favorite short series. Who knows, maybe if we ever get a Yotsuba&! anime, it'll be in this format instead of a 25 minute show
