I heard it gets good eventually but I made it about 5 hours in and threw in the towel, the amount of time spent in cinematics was ridiculous and I didn't like the linear dungeons at all. It never gets good. You eventually make it to a big empty area where you can do quasi-FF12 style hunts. At this point the player is so loving bored that this shake up of routine is mistakenly embraced as emergent gameplay or something. Later you realize its just tedious in a different way.
