For what it's worth, S-E still makes a ton of money on FFXIV, it retains a lot of core elements of Final Fantasy games, is fun, and it hasn't succumbed to FTP like other MMOs. But the last word of that sentence is probably why not a lot of people in this thread would want to play it!
