Holy Moly! DARKSEID IS!

This fish is repulsive.

I will fight you irl. :coolfish:

I like all sorts of deep sea fish but angler fish are my favorite. All the ones you see are female. The males are tiny and only useful for biting into the female's flesh and atrophying into a sperm sac linked to her circulatory system. Scientists didn't know wtf the "growths" were at first. Truly the superior species.

Holy Moly! DARKSEID IS!

Some have even shown extreme affection towards divers they encounter regularly, coming out of their burrows to swim and play with them. A bunch of misunderstood goof balls.

I got to see one at the Shedd Aquarium come swimming out in their big center reef tank and this is 100% true. Their body mostly hangs vertically and it's like a big doofy ribbon.

You can take a backstage tour at Shedd and a couple years ago there was a huge piraiba catfish who was kept separated because he kept eating the other fish in the tanks. The guide tapped the side and he came right on up to the surface like a friendly dog (that would eat your whole arm given the chance).
