Still have my lovely jetta but bought a 16 sonata plug in hybrid today. The vplan they are offering tdi owners is insane , msrp of 39705 walked out the door at 30,500 after all rebates and discounts. Bank said i didnt have to put dow a downpayment if i didnt want to because i was already past the 90% ltv. Also, the v plan is better than their own dealer employee discount. Edit: none of this is counting my downpayment or the 4900 $ federal tax credit u receive with your return. Lord of Garbagemen fucked around with this message at 08:08 on Dec 1, 2016 |

Got my offer letter finally (amount matches the calculator), exactly 10 business days from the "documents approved" email. At this point I'd be surprised if I can wrap this up by the end of the year.

Just finished my turn in. The two claims "specialists" were quite special indeed. It was a total clusterfuck. I'm guessing they gave these guys precisely zero training.

Imagine what some dealers are going to do to people that weren't smart enough to figure out their replacement before they show up to give the car back.

Try to get them to buy another car? It's not like they can force you to use your check to buy a VW. Hell, you might even get a terrific deal on a 2016, now that we're nearing the end of the year.

Since my wife is getting increasingly annoyed and impatient, she just had me call VW to see if I could find out why paperwork hasn't finalized. I just learned at least that their menu options have updated. But after going through all the prompts, I learned that there's no point in calling because their automated message said that the customer service agents have no further details on why it's taking long. Anyone else have any other experience?

There's not much to it other than they are overwhelmed. You can pull up an independent audit of how the first 20 days have gone if you look around on r/TDI but it's not going to help it get done any sooner.

Just talked to VW again. This time they said today was the day that I *should* have received an offer(last time they told me it would be 11/22), but I still have not heard anything. Of course they couldn't give me anymore detailed information, except that hopefully I should receive the email this weekend. I don't know why I keep wasting my time trying to get information out of them, I just want to be done with this whole loving thing.

Good to know that VW isn't the only clueless car company out there. I just got in the mail today an ad for a discount on Mini's aimed at VW TDI owners. The catch was that I had to take delivery by 11/30/2016.

VW is still checking my eligibility (3 weeks now), gently caress this stupid company. It must be one digit of my VIN a business day. Also for those people saying they would strip their cars, the reddit tdi page has a thread where apparently VW will put you through a whole thing and could deny if it looks like intentional dismantling.

I'm trying to reasonable justify what could possibly be the hold up. Our last email from them was Nov. 3rd. We're in SoCal. I don't know if it's sheer volume of TDIs in LA, or if it has to do with which dealer we picked. Or if it's because we have a "file" at VW corporate from before.

I also got my file deleted when i asked them to bump up my mileage. I almost think vw credit applicants are getting served last so they can keep bringing in that sweet sweet .9% interest rate on my loan.

I wish my Golf tires fit my new Civic Hatch, as I just bought them prior to the buyback notification (though I did use the $500 VW card, so it was kind of "free" money.)

Apparently my scanner cut off the footer on each page of the offer document and it was rejected (for the second time, first time I missed a page). BUT I had to call in to find this out and was only on hold for about 10 seconds then spoke to someone who knew pretty much immediately what the problem was and what I needed to do to correct it and the whole thing took about 3 minutes so I got that going for me. YMMV

They said they did the offer letter like two days ago and it's not going to be emailed right away. So maybe they're just milking it for people to bump up their mileage, and wait for them to finally call and go through the prompts past the automated Q&A.

Mine's a 2010 that's been paid off for over a year, with a previous file on the vehicle at corporate. I'm sure they wrote "difficult" in there too. And we submitted everything long ago.
