There's nothing wrong with exotic pets per se, and many of them are less dangerous than dogs which absolutely anyone can have. Either require training and permits for dogs, or shrug your shoulders when someone wants to own flying squirrel.

Oh, also both women and men really need to chill out about outward appearances. Beauty culture is completely out of loving control.

That said, shave your loving pube-y beard, it's loving disgusting.

It's not just about danger, it's also about animal cruelty. Who can say they can provide an adequate habitat to a flying squirrel, not to mention something like a leopard.

The same is entirely true of a dog or cat, though. I don't object to a ban per se, I object to the double standard where it's okay to have a Great Pyrenees crated in your 1br, but a possum is right out.

Furthermore,

1. "Fast fashion" needs to end. No one needs that many clothes. If we have that much money for clothes, we have enough money to pay a little more for better clothes, maybe even clothes produced domestically.

2. There's nothing wrong with school uniforms.

3. Marijuana legalization is important on behalf of minorities whose lives are ruined over a largely harmless activity, not so that college whites can toke up.

4. Road to El Dorado sucks.

5. Inside Out also sucks.

6. Having Asperger's is a reason why you're a dickhead, not an excuse for being a dickhead, and you can learn to be less of a dickhead.

7. A lot of people claim "Asperger's" when really they are self-centered and poorly socialized in a way that is no way inherent.

8. Commoditization of sex is a serious social problem and does not benefit men or women regardless of how well-established it is in human history.

9. If your car has absolutely nothing personal in it, then you are probably more obsessed with appearances than introspective about yourself.

10. Pepperoni is loving gross.

The pacing of Stephen universe is going to kill it if the creators aren't careful. It is cute, but it is not so good that it will withstand self-indulgently spinning its wheels.

Two seasons of Rick & Morty, from a storytelling standpoint and despite Dan Harmon's marketing of those skills, contain less nuance than a single episode of The Amazing World of Gumball.

I agree with this.

I think the entire "comedy by approaching an emotional issue in an unemotional way" genre is tired as hell, and is basically propaganda for autists.

I like animation, period, but frankly I do wish it veered further from its almost exclusive role as "family entertainment." Animation is essentially just art with a time axis, the fact that it's 95% Johnny Test is inexplicable and a travesty.

There isn't really a good fast-food burger. In-n-Out, Five Guys, etc. are all just the shame poo poo and they're all pretty bad. I mean Burgerville is all right but they're sort of on the brink like Panera Bread of not really being fast food as such.

Malt-o-Meals are literally the Post cereals. They're made in the same factory, I know someone who works there.

Crispix is a Kellogg's cereal, and Kellogg's doesn't do quite the same thing as Post.

Not to mention some animals, like grey squirrels, are actually overpopulated in cities and occur in unnaturally high densities there (squirrels occur at around 8 times the population densities in cities than in the wild). Also, sometimes your cat just sucks at catching anything and isn't a threat. My cat is an indoor cat, but my mother's insanely stupid and pointlessly violent cat goes outside to take a dump and that's about it, she's afraid of birds, snakes, and small pieces of ham so she's probably not doing too much damage.

Admittedly, our family's former cat took to the fields around our house and was basically death on paws. and would stack deer mice in piles as her little cat job. But we were fine with that because as much as I love almost every kind of animal, to me rodents (with a few exceptions like beavers) are vermin.

I sort of doubt that, though. I think you'd find a profitable niche if you launched a "whites-only" restaurant or similar. That's why it has to be illegal.

Essentially the entire business plan of Waitrose is to charge more for exactly the same products to keep the poors out, and they're doing well.

I can't imagine a whites only restaurant succeeding anywhere that isn't already pretty much whites-only just from demographics already. Put one in a major city and it would probably be a permanent protest site, constantly having to pay for damages and the people who went would have their identities smeared all over the internet.

I lived in the South for a while and I guarantee you, it would do fine. Lines got longer at Chik-fil-a after they announced they hated the gays, even if it were a cynical marketing move it would have been a profitable one.

Furthermore, it wouldn't be just one restaurant, is the point. If it were a profitable niche (it would be), others would move in, or do their own version--blacks only, Asians only, men only, etc.

Most of the "tech advances" we keep crowing over aren't that special or interesting. Many of them are just re-packaged versions of older ideas. The real change is just that a lot of this Sharper-Image-esque bullshit is now "affordable", in that they've convinced you that you should own a "smart" water bottle even though that means nothing, no you don't, and you still owe $40K in student loans.

Babylon 5 is the best, with neither budget, recognizable actors, or more than 3 distinct sets .

(A favorite moment is when Cartagia is visiting Narn, and his assistant is like "we've done it up just like your throne room so you'll be comfortable!" which is a funny excuse in its own right, and made funnier by the fact that it's mostly cheap gauzy fabric hanging over cardboard tubes)

It's also tough because some of its best qualities are tied to how groundbreaking it was, where other shows have begun to do those things more commonly. It's like when the lil alien in Twilight Zone screams "INCREDIBLE RACE OF GIANTS HERE! INCREDIBLE RACE OF GIANTS HERE!" and you're like oh poo poo, he's the human! That twist probably blew some people's fuckin minds in black-and-white teevee days, but now it's like woooahhh nice work, R.L. Stein.

That said, I will still defend Babylon 5 to my grave, because it's build around a nugget of god-damned authenticity. True, the rest of the pearl is made of layers of ham and cardboard, but there's a kind of person out there who wants ham and cardboard with a center of pure gold. That might not describe most people, but for a subsection of the population, it's a joy.

The "basic income" idea is flawed because people do need to have tasks. If they don't, they flounder. It doesn't matter if the task is ultimately of any use, as long as they think it is of some use. That said, people aren't being given a fair income to survive on, and this undercuts the entire system which relies on a perception of fairness.
