So in this thread I want some discussion on what we think the left should do on retaking power in America. I have my own thoughts which cover a wide area of possibilities on how evil the GOP and ineffective the liberals of the democrats can be. But I want any and all input in this thread. First of course I should lay out my own thoughts. If we can get back in power by 2020. Implement Bernies plan, with some anti gerrymandering rules. Unfuck the supreme court. If by 2024 because DNC hosed Ellison and Bernie, stack the supreme court. Also start gerrymandering mid decade in all states controlled like the GOP did with Texas If the GOP decides to rig the system making democrats impossible to retake the place until a depression happens. At this moment I would suggest as the GOP rigged the system the democrats or if another party has replaced them by this point should consider a complete war on the GOP. Ban their thought, use the justice department to jail as many of their judicial appointees as possible. Go full on purge for all I care because if the GOP does show itself to be so evil, then it will have to be eliminated from America and its mode of thought eliminated as well If this triggers 1861, so be it. America will be cleansed from them either way. I want any and all input put into this thread, be as fanciful as possible.

21st century voting rights act. Mandatory early voting offered for at least two weeks. Polls must be open until 8pm all federal elections. Outlaw voter ID laws until its something you can get at the post office in less than an hour. Massively expand access to mail in/absentee voting, force states to offer it in federal elections. Popular vote for presidential elections. Long term, increase the power and size of the house, after mandating redistricting by nonpartisan comitttees like CA. Long, long term, decrease the power of the senate. Like 80% of our problems come from the masssive loving influence we give places like Wyoming over actually populated areas.

Okay so everyone with jobs and families get to be "progressives," carry placards, and caution against doing anything "rash." Young, single people get to be "socialists," carry bricks and guns, and not give a gently caress about anything. Since political parties don't really restrict membership anymore, this can all be done within the democratic party. The party will change once we reach a critical mass of bricks.

California has had taxation without fair representation for long enough! It's tired of holding up all these red states that would fail instantly without its almond flavored teat to suckle from. It's tired of getting less representation for its population in all branches of the federal government. It's had enough! California, New York, Illinois, Virginia, and the other blue states secede and full civil war commences. The blue states will win again, because the red states suck rear end, and then we implement a new Constitution with a unicameral legislature with party proportional representation, no senate, no electoral college, and a massively expanded bill of rights guaranteeing healthcare, housing, collective bargaining rights, and the ability of voters in any state to initiate a referendum without the help of the legislature to change their state's government if it becomes oppressive and undemocratic.

Well it could be argued it is. But then I don't have any problem with anyone being born a certain way, or how they pray to God, Gods, or have no God.
