Honestly the biggest change from the anime to this is that all the evil underlings die here, but they survive in the anime and have some kind of story roles as it continues, ostensibly as good guys because that's the law for beaten anime villains. Except I think Alcyone, who is just that much of a fuckup.

Wow, the plot twist ending managed to get even worse because of how rushed it was. There's actually a whole second half of the manga/anime but I forget how the girls manage to go back to Cephiro when the princess' death was supposed to doom the place. Thanks for the LP Kuvo, I never would have seen this game otherwise. Edit: I forgot I was going to mention that CLAMP's most famous series, Cardcaptor Sakura, is getting a brand new arc and the anime version just started recently. Episode 1 got off to a great start when Sakura had to explain to the audience that one of her school friends, a 12 year old girl who was in a romantic relationship with her teacher, has abruptly transferred to a different school and won't be appearing again. Is her death supposed to doom it? The game seemed to be implying more along the lines that she wouldn't be helping it anymore but they'd stopped her destroying it. If the world dies either way I don't know why she'd bother summoning knights to kill her instead of letting the world die in the way that let her chill with her boyfriend until the apocalypse.

Okay, I checked the wikipedia page and it turns out I had mis-remembered the part about Cephiro being doomed. Here's spoilers for the second half of the series: "The second part of the series deals with the complications caused by Princess Emeraude's death. Set a year later, it opens with the three protagonists struggling with their guilt and despair over their role in her death. Meeting again at Tokyo Tower, they find themselves transported mysteriously to Cephiro again, and discover that only a single piece of Cephiro remains, which holds a castle where the survivors gather to take refuge. With the Pillar gone, Cephiro is, for the most part, defenseless, and the girls are saddened to learn that a new Pillar must be chosen by the Pillar system before the whole planet is destroyed." In other words yeah, the world is doomed without a pillar but they can get a new one.

 1/19 UPDATE Here are the outakes. They are mostly boring except for Zagat's and  went to suncosta and chatted with randy. he said he knows a guy in japan that could get me the OVAs. spent 3 months of allowance for that so i hope its good. i'll let you all know when it arrives in a week or two. so if im getting this right, emeralds plan was to call the magic knights so they would come and stop her from destroying the world. When she told zagat that he was like 'but why though, thats dumb. I will protect you' she waits it out while zagat starts destroying stuff and generally being a dick for some reason to try and stop the mage knights, they win because thats how the story works and when they beat zagats giant robotification of jealousy, emerald gets really mad because her plan worked? When shes dead she accepts her fate as the best option and the inhabitants wait for someone else to be the princess.

I think it's more that (maybe in a moment of lucidity) emerald thinks "I done hosed up" and summons them, and when zagat hears he thinks that's horseshit and semi-locks her up. She was fine with this arrangement up until he gets murdered. Maybe she thought he'd be fine out there? More likely a bit of buyer's remorse. And of course communication is out of the question in any way because CLAMP
