Apparently Moana is a name of popular Italian pornstar so the changed the title of the movie to Oceania there lmao Actually want to see this movie, even The Good Dinosaur which was apparently "bad" was quite good

What you didn't like about it? I'm legit curious, because outside of some weird mood shifts I thought it was fine. Only like the writers weren't sure if the move is supposed to be for kiddies or slightly older kids.

I saw Moana over the weekend as well during a rare rainy day. The popcorn game was maybe a B+ at best and I smuggled in my own water so I can't rate that. The movie itself was very charming and enjoyable. Maui was the best character and I loved the chemistry he had with Moana (not romantic but good friends giving each other poo poo chemistry). It is fun for the whole family but it's also fun for anyone who wants to watch Moana. I also learned that The Rock can sing very well. Worth ticket price.

Trolls is substantially more thematically coherent than Moana.

I enjoyed it to an extent but I also think I disliked it because I never, ever liked Disney's "frontier" movies like Old Yeller or Davy Crockett even when I was a kid. When I realized that was basically what the movie was (except with dinosaurs), half my brain checked out. drat stunning animation though.

For some reason seeing posters and screenshots for Moana turned me off, but then seeing how everything looked in movement (gorgeous) in a commercial got me really interested in it. I'm almost more eager to see it just to figure out why those still images failed to grab me. Maybe it was just lovely poster design; they were pretty boring compositionally, and iirc the "Moana" logo wasn't exciting. Glad to hear it's good, op, I'll add it to my list.
