I picked up the Legacy collection recently, never played any of these games before outside of the Battle Network series and they're incredibly fun. Beaten 1 and 2 and almost done (hopefully, I think) with 3 and I've had a blast with all of them. The more I revisit the library the more impressed I am with the NES selection, especially how much advancement was made aesthetically and design wise in a dramatically short period of time, and also with teams of probably like 6 people. Anyway I'll probably play through all the numbered games and check out the X and Zero series, since every game seems to be pretty short.

One Nation, Under God.
MM's probably the first non-Nintendo NES game that really feels tailor-made for the hardware, there's a level of craftsmanship to the visuals that nothing aside from SMB3 could touch, even other Capcom games

then they cranked out a bunch of them and everyone else caught up, but they still did a good job

The jump in visual fidelity on just the backgrounds between 1 and 2 was pretty shocking, and they get better in 3. The slowdown is pretty annoying at times though, you get more than one or two enemies on screen and it gets rough quickly

Kirby's Epic Win is briefly on hold while I beat the mega man games...the series is not forgotten, I just got fascinated with Dream Course and have been trying to get golds on every course. 7 and 8 are really hard though

Then you'll love the Zero series, which is built around re-running stages for a perfect score.

i can beat the prologue stage, Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle without taking damage, but I have always gotten hit at least once in Flame Mammoth's stage, and I always use at least one sub tank at the spider boss. Mega Man X is one of my go to games when I need to just turn my brain off.

I'd try to get better at it and do speed runs or something, but there have got to be at least 20 people who will always be better at it than me, so why stress myself out.

Mega Man 3 was really hard but the final boss was a complete joke. And Mega Man 4 is the first OK entry so far, none of the stages have that same pizazz as 2/3 and the bosses are either way too easy or way too squirrelly. I'll finish it though along with 5 and 6.

Yeah, honestly, 4 is elevated for me by the music, but it's where things take a turn for the easy. Toad Man is probably the biggest joke boss ever lol

Also the Cossack stages are okay but they just don't live up to Doc Robot.

It does have the consistently best soundtrack so far. Also I like how goofy theyve gotten with the character designs even if the weapons are still basically the same as theyve been the whole time.
