One thing I'm sad about is the fact we never got Giger to go whole hog with his ideas. We all love Cameron's ant inspired hive and queen idea but originally Giger had this loving thing as the Queen. Something like this would be rad to see onscreen, everything about just seems wrong and completely alien, as it should be, ants are cool and all but something we are very famliar with. Oh and those weird blob faces you see? In the first film the xeno originally loving melted the captured crewmen slowly alive into eggs. Are there any good Alien based horror movies besides the Alien and Predator Series and The Thing? I find Aliens scary and fascinating but I'm not really interested in ~greys abducted me~~~~ stuff.

What happens in Prometheus is just too much of that kind of thing, it's hard to suspend you're disbelief that everyone could be that grossly unprofessional/incompetent. I guess we just have to accept that they are though because that's what we got. Prometheus is just the perfect storm of the worst people at their jobs doing the worst things.

Pretty much the only thing I hate about Alien is the terrible looking jump cut between Ash's severed head prop into Ian Holm's real head. It should've cut away somewhere between those shots to another character, instead it's anything but seamless. Otherwise it's the quintessential space horror for me.

In the 90's there was a local guerilla tv station that hooked up to the tv cable somehow that would show movies you normally had to get from a video rental and there was no way a legal tv station could show these. They had some insane programming and my first ever viewing of the Alien series was the entire trilogy in a row on one evening. It was quite a ride, I loved it.
