it's so hard for me to tell because everything is so terrible or predictable or rehashed nowadays. I mean there's a lot that are fairly good but very few blew me away such that you *know* it's got legs. Like back in the day, walking out of Pulp Fiction, The Matrix, Trainspotting, Shawshank, T2, etc etc etc you knew you just saw something special.

movies that last seem to be either really good, or unique, or evocative, or subtle in some way. but I'm not sure I've seen any of that in a long rear end time.

Ex Machina? John Wick? Dredd? Nightcrawler? Guardians of the Galaxy?

We need Netflix to get into the movie biz.
