I have like at least 150 hours logged in this game which might not be a lot to some but that's nearly an entire week added up and I can only remember a select few instances where I've seen people spamming hateful poo poo and TKing in a way that was disruptive to the game.

for a competitive eSp0rtz™ shooter this game is actually quite chill and the people tend to be way more level headed than what I've seen in practically everything else like it - just look at CS:GO

seen way more ggs than gtfos in Siege even if the only operators played were tachanka/recruit and we lost every round. i feel like the playerbase overall has a pretty good sense of humor even when the game seemingly fucks them over for whatever reason.

Scanning footprints to ping players seems like it's going to get a lot of complaints early on.

though it'll be interesting to see mostly Caveira roaming after a while if they keep it useful.

I play random matches all the time when my friends aren't on and its still fun as hell. Most of the players I've encountered will work together as a team whenever someone asks them to care. If you end up in a good team the matchmaker will let you sit in a party with them until they eventually start to disconnect.

From my experiences most people don't take the game that seriously but like any eSportz you'll encounter people that forget this is a videogame. There are a lot of players that just like to try unconventional tactics which are always funny when they pay off because this game can be quite unpredictable for a competitive shooter. A lot of them are very good and they keep the game entertaining.

Jackals rifle is cool and when you break open a trap door and look down into the objective it is like :catdrugs: with the footsteps.

IDK how I feel about Mira outside of ranked w/friends. Though I do think her ability is pretty cool but like Valkryie/Echo/Tachanka, I probably won't play her unless I trust my team or just loving around.

Just camp out in the objective or follow good players around until you get a feel for it. Sound also plays a huge part in this game so either try using headphones or turn your speakers up.

many of the existing themed universal skins in this game are already just practically slapped on for the most part while some guns it looks like they actually took their time with to use the given pattern in a way that actually fits its shape

making skins isn't really that hard especially if you're getting paid for it, just tedious

there are people that make hundreds (sometimes even thousands) of skins/textures just as a hobby.

Having played Mira a bit more I've come to realize she's actually pretty cool and useful regardless of how bad your team is.

Jackal is easily my favorite of the two though. The rifle is stylin. The ability is maybe kind of OP and using a shotgun while escorting hostages is wild even though it won't happen too often. Now that you give us the option to take double shotguns/SMGs I can feel more optimistic about the possibilities of a John Woo operator at some point.

I haven't been really following the community outside of this thread but I bet there has been a lot of brainstorming going on for new op abilities. Have there been any interesting ideas presented that might actually end up in game?

An ability that affects movement speed would be cool but oh so exploitable. They'd have to be otherwise lovely since being able to rotate quickly or even dash from one side of a door to the other would be horrific to play against no matter which team you're on. I agree that the way smoke works currently could be improved but that doesn't mean they are actually useless.

Smoke grenades and Montagne's shield go together really well especially since the majority of this game is indoors.

Unlike flashbangs, smoke grenades work best if you throw a few of them at once. I've walked right onto the objective for a win more times than I can remember by just throwing smoke in 3 corners of the room causing anyone camping to panic. Try using them to cause confusion and chaos moreso than to directly conceal movement.

They will distract defenders and usually even spook them into giving away their position by blind firing into the cloud.

You can also throw them off of your position to make the enemy think you are trying to flank them or are breaching the opposite end of the building.

This isn't a stealth game

fuze/capitao are probably my most played operators because belt fed machineguns moreso than clusterbombs/fire arrows

my aim isn't that great, i can pop headshots if i really try but for the most part i find that the main thing people forget to do in this game is use most of their bullets before the round is over.

one of my favorite defensive tactics is to just go off a floor above/below the objective and comepletely loving destroy the walls until i'm down to my last handful of shells or the attackers are moving in too closely. i swear this swiss cheese poo poo slows them down significantly more often than not and even makes them paranoid because of how effective kill holes can be in this game.

my pre-round setup with cav/smoke is generally running to an area like this and using every single shotgun shell this way since you only actually ever need the pistol/mac10 with dank leaf skins on it

all the ops are fun, that's the beauty of this game. you get burnt out playing one op inside out and then you can change it up a bit and play someone else. a lot of the operators that i initially thought were weak are actually just as viable if you play to their strengths. even tachanka is cool if you figure out good setups and aren't afraid to abandon your gun or relocate it mid-round.

of those 3 ops though mira is the one that will introduce a new playstyle for you. hibana is basically ash/thermite mix and incredibly popular. so is cav because people like to roam.

edit: also unless it's changed her vector is pretty blatantly amazing and one of the most "op" feeling weapons i've used recently

buck is badass and generally underplayed imo

the thing that makes his shotgun ability so cool is just how quickly you can toggle between the modes

Scarecow/Turnip - Has hats on a stick, lets you put a decoy on a stick to poke out of cover and test for snipers. Has mimic sets of the worst clown masks available for unlock.

Wick - can melee attack people while downed if they are in range

also how long until there is an op that has too many rails and can mount and acog then tilt the gun 45 degrees and use a holo sight with a bunch of novelty attatchments that only he can use like a flashlight or bipod or bayonette that damages ppl without having to press the melee button?
